I honestly could not agree more. I feel like I unkowingly longed for this game for years. And yes FTL is coming to iOS
Only early 2014, as far as I know. I'm anticipating it too, because I think the Advanced Edition update will be coming the same time as the iPad version. I think it's one of the generous updates I've seen for a game; it could easily be a paid expansion but nope, free update
Yes, every time I play a new game I find something new that amazes me (except one time where I found a portal that leads me to the very beginning hehe) even more. There are so many things to find out and so many achievements to collect. It seems to never end (I am starting to see some patterns to it but that is the main story going around and evolving). The more I last in a game, the better it becomes, just exploration and discovery, leave the combat for FTL
Do we actually have to memorize the alien language? Or is there a way to view it. Right now my best score is 19,000 after traveling through like half the place when I touched a mysterious glyph, also I got a message at he beginning once that mentioned "me" talking about how we might actually be indangerering earth if we get there. Because the aliens may be following us. maybe hinting at an ending?
Maybe it would be best to have a spoiler thread for this game? I'd rather not have discoveries, events, etc. spoiled
Hope you like it too, and its indeed a challenge. Whaaa, iPad only? ((Out There want universal when I first saw it but it happened in the end (and very glad it did)) Agree, dont really want to say much because I feel like Im spoiling it, just sharing my feelings with it. This a game you have to experience on your own.
As soon as you learn a new word the next time you will speak to an alien that word will be translated. Seeing how the game works, a dictionary would be counter intuitive Spoiler So far I think the whole galaxy speaks the same language.
Yes, but next time you begin a game, you have to learn the language again. Nonetheless, dialogues are easy, even though I tend to forget the right answer Btw, the last game I played ended with a black screen. I don't know if it was a bug or just a memory leak because of all the times I had to exit the app, lock the phone, come back, etc., but the result was a force-close and open the game again.
Are you sure you're forgetting? Or is a word in the dialogue switching randomly unbeknownst to you, like from "love" into "fear"?
I recently finished A Dark a Room which I loved. It involved the collection and management of resources and exploration. Are there any similarities with this game? Probably a stupid question
Yes. Exploration and management of resources is the core of the game play. You must get this NOW! Edit: I'll add that as long as you like the space theme and don't mind (or like me embrace) the dying and starting over, you should easily enjoy it. The beautiful art work and the atmospheric soundtrack doesn't hurt either.
So far it's been a really positive experience. However my first run ended in a lame way. My inner solar system engines broke and I didn't have the resources to fix it. So I was forced to quit. That was sort of anti-climatic. I suppose it'll teach me not to cut it so close. Other than that it's been great. I believe the developer has more in store through updates too.
