Idealistically speaking, you must convince people to not want to commit acts of terrorism. That is the only way to win the war on terror. That is why I said that Enlightment is the only thing that can stop terrorism. Not guns. From a practical standpoint, that is impossible. Just like the only way you could win the war on drugs would be to convince everybody to not want to take drugs. Also impossible. The war on terrorism cannot be won. When politicians talk about winning the war on terrorism, and of course never provide any sort of an outline for how it could possibly happen, it insults my intelligence. Far too many people are susceptible to governmental propaganda, but I ain't one of them. Yeah, Bin Laden was a dangerous guy. Killing him doesn't change anything. If anything, we made him at Martyr for his people, which is exactly what he wanted. He was unarmed. We murdered him in cold blood. It was a government sanctioned assassination/execution. For that, there will be retribution. Retribution won't come until we've let our guard down. Some people can hold a grudge for their entire lives.
