Just make sure your UDID I registered with apple! I just put it on my 3GS, and it runs buttery smooth!
Just finished adding my apps and putting them in folders, it's a bit tedious but really cleans up the clutter! I'm sure I'll have to redo it in 3 weeks or so, but hey I'm loving it for now! [EDIT] - That's over 150+ Apps on less then 2 screens... Glad I have a 32gb
The Bucs?! You must live in Tampa. No ordinary person would be a fan of 'em, and I don't even watch football.
LoL, Yes I know I have had one of the worst teams in NFL history, but I'm a fan through and through, I live in orlando
I've got a friend that is even more messed up than you. He's never lived in Tampa or even close yet is an enormous fan. He has serious issues picking teams.
Interesting. An airplane mode eh? That sounds nice. Too bad I'm not getting the update. If anyone is planning on upgrading to the 3rd gen iPod Touches/iPhones, I recommend you wait a couple of months. The next iPhones are coming out in June, along with the OS 4.0. The next iPod Touches will be out by next September. So if you want to get the newest iPod Touches/iPhones so you can have the full update, it's better that you just wait.
I like the way they've implemented the folders, it's very dicreet... unlike I imagined. But how do you get it out of the folder? Is there a way to take out individual apps or completely rid the folder? Does anyone know how many apps can be multi-tasked? I'm guessing 4?
Open the folder, then touch-and-hold just like you were moving other apps, and drag it out of the folder. If you move the last app out of the folder, the folder disappears. I don't think there's a prescribed limit, just the amount that RAM will permit. The keynote showed Steve running at least 8.
Indeed, look at these information (without d-load links). I wonder if I could flash my iPod touch 3G with iPhone 3GS software...
In the background I have over 12 apps still running, now of course none of them are being truly ran in the bakground yet, but seems to support much more then 4. As for the folders it's really nice and it makes using the phone MUCH more user friendly then swiping between 11 pages. And yes you can only move apps one by one. To delete a folder currently you have to remove the apps one by one unroll the folder dissapears with the last app.
A small UI thing for the multitasking: it seems very cumbersome to have to long press any icon you want off of your multitasking "dock". I thing it would be far easier and more intuitive to allow a user to simply swipe or drag any icon off the dock in order to remove an app from the multitasking "dock", similar to how one takes an icon off the dock in Mac OS X.
I was thinking maybe an "End all process" button, clean swiping off the bar would be cool too though...
