$20 via the Mac App Store, and that works on up to 5 or some such number computers. Can upgrade from 10.6 or 10.7 for that price. Even more awesome pricing than last time.
In the US, BestBuy.com has 15% off of itunes cards including downloadable. Pick up a $25 card for $21.25 and you'll have enough for 10.8 and $5 left over.
Thanks for that Now I'm ready to get the new OS. I hope Mountain Lion finally has better video options. I would like to hook up my HDTV and 28inch monitor to my Mac Mini at the same time and turn one completely off when I need. I'm just switching out cables in the back - really sucks, makes me wish I never got rid of my Windows PC for my media center.
It's finally out. $20 looks like a pretty good deal. Lots of upgrades in comparison to SL > Lion. Might be getting it just to have GameCenter on my Mac xP. Bunch of new default apps and more social integration. The usual.
Darn it if I didn't use up all my discounted iTunes credit before it was released. LOL. We get it for free with our MacBook Air as it qualifies for Mac Up To Date, but I don't think we can install that copy on our other Mac. So we have to buy it anyway, which is fine. It's only $20. My only hesitation with getting it is that our old scanner needed a workaround to work in 10.7 and I'm not yet sure if the same workaround works for 10.8. Don't want to lose the scanner againÂ….
I think i saw somewhere that if go on that mac you make a new user account on that it sign into the MAP and re download ML then it will work. Then you just delete the other account and your all set.
its around 4GB so it depends on your download speeds. My average download speed is around 1.4 mbs so for me it should be pretty quick once I take the plunge and buy it.
I think mine took about 20 minutes, maybe less, I just grabbed a quick dinner and it was done by the time I came back. Seems faster than lion, though I did a full clean install of Mountain Lion instead of upgrading. I like it, notification is really good and I love the iOS adaptions and Apple TV support. Even though I'm liking Mountain Lion, I'm starting to feel Apple is running out of ideas on the OS front...anyone else starting to think this? After using the Windows 8 beta with metro for awhile and using the latest versions of Windows Phone 7 with the new features at work for a bit, the iOS and Mac OSX is really getting extremely boring and archaic in comparison. I never thought I'd say this, but it seems Microsoft is finally getting their act together.
It's only $20. So reasonable that I don't think I'm going to cheat the system. Main thing is I don't want our scanner to stop working again, so I'm holding out on installing until I can find out if it still works in 10.8.
I totally agree. I am looking at functional improvements, better integration, and the improvements are all social - push notifications, game center, Facebook, twitter. That is all fine, but better work integration seems to make sense to me. Maybe I'm missing the point.
I agree with your statement also. I think Apple are in a really dangerous position at the moment and if Microsoft take not and do the right thing they could clean up. They have and new console, OS, tablet and phone coming next year and what do apple have? Their usual yearly updates, that will not be enough.
