Seeing as how this site is centered around Apple devices, I'm curious to know how many people actually use Apple's operating systems.

Personally, I think Windows XP is the ultimate OS, which will never be beaten. I do like Ubuntu as well, but it could never replace XP for me.

Windows 7 will be the best is October. It has the speed of Vista with everything good about XP.

Speed of Vista? I wouldn't brag about that lol I think you got it backwards. It has the speed of XP with everything good UI wise of Vista. It also has internal XP compatibility (no idea what its called) allowing you to use programs that wouldn't otherwise run on Vista or Windows 7. I thought that was pretty cool. Friend of mine was telling me about it. Already pre-ordered my Windows 7 copy.

I don't know. Vista was pretty slow on my computer compared to XP, and I hated the UI, which 7 shares with Vista. I've seen the beta, and am not really impressed.

OSX. I owned a Dell and an Asus. The Dell ran XP, while pretty good, it became practically unusable towards the end. Endless crashing, and 5 minutes to boot up is waaaaay too long. The Asus, running Vista, was a dream to use the first two months, then it slowly went downhill and took the same route the Dell did. At least it still has a bit of dignity at the moment, but I still hate it.

Switched the OSX, like slicing butter with a warm knife :D

Today my brother's Vista laptop decided that it was going to crash all Explorer windows anytime I pressed an arrow key. Voting for OSX :)

Snow Leopard is OS X. As it is, the poll has spread around the Microsoft vote among the various versions of Windows while Apple operating systems are consolidated for some reason. Keep quiet and we will win!

I vote for "OS X" wink, wink. ;)

    :D :D

OSX all the way for me. Using it for 4 years and never looked back since day one. Win 7 looks good and I m happy for the unfortunate win users who wont get a Mac for whatever personal reason/opinion. Vista was one piece of real crap

I have only heard stories. I have not had the 'pleasure' of personal experience.

And even though I voted for OS X, I am curious what linux distros people are using (if any.) My favorite is Knoppix. What a lifesaver!

I don't know. When I got my laptop, it came with Vista. Things seemed to work pretty well, but barely any games would work (I even had trouble getting Baldur's Gate to run). When I wiped it and put XP on, games worked a lot better. I was even able to play through Fallout 3 (on low graphics settings, but it was still playable, unlike on Vista).

I said faster, not better. The compatibility and bugs in Vista are horrendous, that's why I said it's the speed of Vista and everything good about XP. XP has good compatibility either than or Vista has bad compatibility. lol

I guess Vista would be faster if I weren't constantly pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

switched to Mac and OSX a couple of months ago, and very happy with it. I would say OSX is better than anything coming from microsoft I used over the years.
My favourite linux distro is ubuntu.

Mac for its simplicity and Windows for gaming. Mac works straight out of box while a bloated Windows that we see most of the time from various retailer requires a fresh install and some installtion of software.

After years of using a PC and a Mac, I've learnt that driver is vital to a system stability. PC runs on all kind of hardware combination created by various manufacturer thus are more expose to instability problem unlike Mac that limits its hardware component and build around it.

Both is a great OS in my opinion and at the end of the day, has a certain level of general computing knowledge does helps and both my OS is running butter smooth.
