It's only the iPod Touch 2G that has Bluetooth support, due to the Nike shoes support thing. 1G is getting kinda... not as useful lol.

Just to clear up some things for people who don't know, you can now have 11 pages of apps PLUS the Spotlight feature. Also you can have an UNLIMITED amount of apps (until memory runs out) that won't show up on your pages, but you can use them by searching in Spotlight.

As for the battery, I personally think 3.0 is worse on my iPhone 3G, but maybe because I have been using it a lot trying out the update. So far it's good, although if you are an iPod touch user, I don't see a whole lot for you guys to update for.

Well, apart from the fact that it will be needed for future games ;)

I am also loving the search, the cut, copy, paste, and the much faster browsing. I think it's well worth the update.

Ignore other people's responses, there is a new way to handle extra applications in the new upgrade. In 3.0, you can install as many apps onto the device as you want, though only 11 pages of them will appear. To access the other ones, you just go into Spotlight and search the name. It's even better than a folder system.

It will eventually be worth it.

Yea yea... It may be buggy and few features for the price, but cut, copy, paste is a real treat AND third party accesories might be delivered to the ipod touch. Future games may only be compitable with the update as well.
Check out all the new exact 3.0 updatefeatures here:

Is there any way to run through a list, or do you have to know exactly which app you're looking for?

go through a list...you type in the first letter of the app and a lot of things with that letter come up so you can scroll through them

Why would you say that, other than some urge to spread fear for no reason? I updated through that method yesterday and didn't lose any data. It worked perfectly. I feel slightly bad about denying Apple that $10, but only slightly.

So far I haven't seen any problems or performance hits in any of my games, and Safari and Mail definitely seem much faster. The only thing I'm concerned about is that the backup of my ipod via Itunes seems like it's going to take about 9 hours (I haven't let it finish yet - yesterday I let it go for about 3 hours and it was only 2/3 done)
