IMHO they're doing the right thing by having delayed it until they got multiplayer down. Too many games are awesome but they're forgotten after they take forever to get updated for multiplayer. If the developer is trying to get new people interested in their game, it's better to offer as best of a complete product as they can. I'm sure there are a lot of O1 fans eager to buy this, but most of them aren't on the forum and don't really know about O2 (except now they do b/c of the latest O1 update). In any case, I think they'll reach a bigger audience with their current plan. I'm sure they would've loved to spend more money on advertising too, but since apparently O1 wasn't as big of a success as they had forecasted, perhaps that's keeping them from spending more money than they should. Anyways notice most of these are my own opinion so don't take it too seriously. I gladly wait for the release which I hope is this wed. And I also tried Shadow Era and although it is pretty badass, I feel there's lil substance. Though again, that's just my personal opinion and mean no bad feelings towards anyone. -<
Shadow Era fails in the same aspect that turned me off to playing magic legitimately...the collectable aspect. Obviously some love that, but not usually those with a lot of expendable income (or ones willing to dump a lot into one game). You can get all the cards for free in Shadow Era unlike MtG or other classic CCGs but it takes so long that if you are willing to put up with it then you probably have a level 200 char on Maplestory...there's so little to do (few opponents, no challenge) to grind money and it's not fun playing with a deck you don't like online because you don't have the right cards. Besides Kyle just pretty much lifted everything from the WoW card game and made a few tweaks...very uninspired. However, simply by virtue of the fact that there are so few card games like these on iOS, it's still one of the better games. Orions will be great because your skill in deck building or drafting will determine your chances of winning (luck is an inevitable factor) instead of how much money you want to spend. MtG could be so much more popular if you didn't have to spend such an ungodly amount of money to keep up with it but naturally once they get the ball rolling on something like that and since there are enough who are willing to spend money in that business model (more for flaunting financial status than anything else) it will never change. So I just play things like Incantus or proxy decks. I still support Wizards by buying DotP despite it being a poor implementation of the actual game (lack of deck building is not supported very well by a "needs to be beginner friendly" excuse). I digress. If they are delaying Orions so MP is stable and because they likely won't be updating it after launch like they did with the first one then that's fine.
I tried to pick up shadow era and it just doesn't have the same feel as orions. I wish the developer would've picked Com2us or halfbrick.. guess i have to stick to starcraft and league of legends
When the hell come it out? I know Chillingo doesnt deserve that anybody buy this Game, after the cheating with Orions 1 Update's but i want play this game !!!
if the update policy of "moregames" is any indication.. what you get (whenever that happens) is what you get.. don't look for updates and bugfixes and make a conscious descision when getting o2. whenever it gets released..
I don't care about multiplayer. It makes no difference to me. I'll just buy it for the single player and life is good
Exactly how I feel about it. It's got a decent framework set up (though even that could be a bit more streamlined I think) but the game itself feels flat and uninteresting. I wish it was a real alternative to Orions because we could really use its help to establish the genre for iPhone, but it just doesn't have much zing.
I got a funny Idea for a Trailer Intro ... ....The waiting was long................very .... long ..... all ppls ..........................................WAITET ................................so much.......................can you feel the wait in you?....................yea we do .....................but MAYBE................the WAITING.............................................will end soooooooooooooon............................................................................... ........................................................MAYBE....................................... ..........................................................Good Luck.
2012, December God: So, Chillingo, are you ready to release O2? Chillingo: Just a few more weeks... God: FFS <apocalypse>
tadaaaa http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/orions-legend-of-wizards/id299447546?mt=8 edit: oh wait thats just version 1.2 , but it looked exactly like orions 2.1 damn mix.. poor bear.. makes me sad what i find interesting is that they don't even announced it on their website yet.. ... as for previous comparsion to shadow era.. i think the comparsion is not good, because one game is actualy supported by its developer, which is a big plus. the game has its own problems but at least someone is driving the project further and the multiplatform apporach is quite different from the offering of orions "2" which is just a port of an old game and now their old addons.. personaly i like orions approach more because its from a gameplay perspective more like magic, whereas shadow era is more like other TGC (i apparently never played) , people compare it often to the wow TGC. at the end there is enough players out there for both games.. but shadow era has the huge benefit that its build around "modern" monetizing features.. its free, so everyone can try and has iap for unlocking more cards faster or buying directly.. and if i see the 5$ price tag on orions1 i have my doubt orions2 will be cheaper.. so its an "aged" looking game which needs to compete with awesome looking games (because looks count) and then even direct competitors who are free to play.. somehow i feel the same story will happen like orions ... not stellar sales and big lack of support.. :/ ah well.. looking forward to the release anyway.. will be interesting how this will run.
