    Above, posted 4/8.

This is most likely the reason for the delay. I know there have been problems with Game Center before. Meneisyyss & I had occasional connection issues but nothing that I would consider all that bad. It's just the nature of the beast, especially when some are on 3G. Wireless seemed to perform better.

Then again, maybe it has to do with Crystal. I really do not know how that functions but it seems to be a major selling point for Chillingo to lure product.

This thought has been running through my head for months now! We've got two projects in development and two more smaller ones planned, but we're considering penciling in something similar to an O/O2 clone following what's currently in active and pending development.

It's really just a thought and something to consider at the moment, but it's been nagging at me for a while.

Without multiplayer, it'd be VERY boring... the AI is pretty capable but a human opponent is far-far better, more engaging and is capable of a lot of tricks.

Their "ideal" case of weeks is already a load of crap. The game is done, the devs have confirmed this. I cannot imagine what they're doing that would even take weeks from when it got submitted, much less still have weeks to go now and MAYBE even longer.

I've been expecting it to be "any day now" for a while. I guess I should stop checking every day if they don't intend to release it for a long time yet. Even May sounds like it's no longer for sure.

Orions 1 never had multiplayer. Orions 2 wasn't even originally planned to have it. And yet... we've all enjoyed it for a long time and wanted a sequel. You can't tell me that a new version with bugfixes, a whole bunch of new cards, and probably a better AI than the old one wouldn't be worth having. Having MP is clearly better, but I'd be much happier if I already had Orions 2 and could be experimenting with the new cards with MP coming in the next update.

    very? VERY?

Yeah, that's why Orions wasn't the most successful card game on WinMobile devices...
Hundredthousands enjoyed it for months without multiplayer.
Including expansions, I played it for over six months.

In your self-bestowed obligation to defend any criticism towards O2, your statements are getting more and more pathetic.

Someone did. Shadow Era, not perfect but an excellent example of what some passion can engender. Hopefully, I will have something out in the fall that will scratch a lot of this kind of itch (and MP to boot) but I'm not at liberty to reveal anything since not all the contracts have been signed yet.

Look, I don't think anyone is more disappointed in waiting an additional [day, week, month - pick one] for O2 than Meneisyss and I, since we know the game pretty intimately by now. MP may not mean much for some of you but it will make a huge difference for a substantial portion of O2's audience. There is no more fun than obliterating someone 10,000 miles away by casting a Fairy and using it's ability to make a 14 strength Elemental kill its own master. :D

Sigh (no longer checking every day)....

Please Vovin, cut him some slack. I think he was only trying to make a point. The AI can make some really, really dumb mistakes and while humans can too, it's certainly more fun to stomp all over a buddy than a program (well, for me anyway).

And if anyone is an apologist for O2, it is ME, so please save your criticism for me. I've been trumpeting this game for so long, every day of wait bothers me and it bothers me more that it (rightfully) bothers everyone else.

    Completely a matter of opinion.

I'd be much happier with a robust AI and a decent campaign/story mode. I'm not interested in multiplayer with strangers ... especially when that "feature" causes the game to be continually delayed.

I'm alright with waiting. I want a game that is polished and problem free. The dev did their part, now it's the publisher's turn.

I agree. Multiplayer would be nice, however if I had to choose between Multiplayer and getting the game half a year earlier, I think it's obvious what my choice would be.

I am still amazed at the fact that Chillingo keeps the game for so long. They haven't done anything at all for marketing yet, delay the sales for the dev but want a huge cut from the profit.
I said it before, but I still think Chillingo is ripping Moregames off. If I were Orions' developer, I'd have gotten very sceptical about Chillingo's service by now.

Shadow Era isn't an Orions clone, it's a WoW TCG clone. Besides turn-based gameplay, Shadow Era and Orions have very little in common.

Trade off. On the one hand, the game would already be out and the dev would be making money. On the other hand, Chillingo's ability to market may be far more meaningful, despite their cut of revs. In any event, the original deal may have specified Chillingo had the rights to publish the follow up to O:LoW.

Right, it is not a O clone, but it shares enough characteristics that those interested in one are likely going to be somewhat interested in the other. That alone was the point. Sorry if I didn't make it clear.

This will be interesting to watch, then, because their total marketing efforts to date for O2 have been ...

    ...

... um, wait, give me a minute ...

    ...

... nope, sorry; I got nothing.

We'll see; maybe there's a big marketing push coming, soon-ish. Maybe they've got it all planned out and are just waiting for the window they've chosen for a release date to open up. I admit freely that I am not privy to any of their plans.

OTOH, the cynic in me thinks that if you asked 10 random Chillingo employees about O2, at least seven would respond, "Huh?"

Two things: (1) please scratch that itch! From all your comments, I believe you'd know what you're doing!

When it comes right down to it, the actually cards, balance, card interactions and basic mechanics are what's important. Everything else is window dressing, even MP (as much as it's rad-to-the-max dressing!)

    (2) Yay Fairy! My favorite O1 card. Though *cough*overpowered*cough*...

Also, I'm really sorry to say this, but as great as Shadow Era is in many, many ways....its card design and game mechanics are uninspired.

I'm trying to put this delicately...but the game is all flash and no substance. Granted, I'm a big CCG and strategy game fan. But Shadow Era is well-meaning, well-executed, and poorly designed.

I played it as much as I possibly could, but in the end, there's just nothing to it. It's simplistic, imbalanced, and some of its core mechanics hurt more than they help create a diverse, expansive, options-based game environment.

I hear ya loud and clear but I'll give it ample time to improve since, as you correctly point out, it is well-executed. Haven''t played at all lately but intend to pick it up again soon. In the meantime, I have been spending way too much time on City of Secrets and Swords & Sworcery.
