waiiiiiiting. looking forward to playing you as well after I get a good feel for O2. I'm pretty new to O1 but look forward to mp. oh amn how do you find random people to challenge in this game?
finding random peeps Go to DUEL (don't forget to change your name where it says "PLAYER 1" unless you want to remain unknown, AND the icon pic at left). Under OPPONENT, click ONLINE. Hit START. GC pops up. Upper rh corner of screen, hit "Play Now." If you have a specific friend you want to invite, hit the "Invite Friend" button instead. Couldn't be easier.
How would you know? It's not like you've ever programed and released a massive card game for iOS. If you ever did it would probably have a weird name like "The sun is shining on me and not the ground underneath Era"! On a more serious note, I just found out about Orions2 a week ago and the wait is killing me, lol. So I can only imagine what a couple of months would feel like. I'm not sure whether to buy Orions1 or not. Figured I'd just wait for the sequel. I'm getting all ancy now though.
As one of the people who have been waiting since November, I can assure you that in 1-2 months the wait becomes bearable and after the 4th month you don't even care. Hopefully you won't have to experiment that.
I'd just wait for the sequel, no point in buying the first one now. Plus, there's a good chance it will price drop after #2 comes out.
I played the original Orions on iOS and I have been waiting for "what-it-should-have-been" for quite a while. From my experiences, I don't mind waiting, just wish the game would be done right and worth the wait! Anyway, I have quite a list of stuffs I have to attend to...
Download a WinMo emulator. All the orions games came out ages ago for that platform and we are just now finally catching up.
I forget, did the trailer say March 2011?? Lol. I'm still thinking O:LoW has to go to $0.99 at least a day before O2 comes out but who knows?
@Benegesserit are you using the windows mobile 5 emu? For some reason the AI response time is really slow so I wanted to use the 6.5 version but that one doesnt support touch screen?
Yeah I was using 5 at the time (when it happened to be the latest). The AI was really slow but I'm not sure if that was an emulator processing issue or optimization with the game.
Just a question... Hi to everyone, I'm a fan of Magic and recently I stumbled upon this Orions 1 game... I've read something here and there, I wish to know if anyone had problems playing this game on an Ipad1 (4.3.1 iOS, the one I have actually). I'm considering to buy it, since this is my ideal genre of games. Just want to read some ipad owners' opinion, since after The Necronomicon's buy (a complete failure on ipad, not mentioning iphones asd) I'm not willing to waste money for nothing. Before you say anything, I'm well aware of the sequel incoming release (lol), just trying to understand if that first version is playable/enjoyable on my ipad or it's too buggy to even start lool. Thanks in advance.
Works OK (in 2x) on my first-generation iPad, albeit with a few minor bugs (e.g. it can't seem to remember the name you input for duels). The balance for duels remains great - very well-designed and a lot of fun. (The campaign element has too much micro-management, IMO, and wears thin fast.) But personally I'd hold off until Orions 2 is out. It looks the next version will have the things the first version long needed, and Orions 1 will probably get a big price drop, to drive interest in the new one.
Personally, I love the campaign mode. Nobody seems to agree with me, tho. If you love MTG, you'll love Orions and you'll almost certainly want both games. Orions 1 was the first game I got on my iPhone (two years ago), and hundreds of games later, it's STILL in my top five games. It's just a total blast and I can't recommend it enough. I haven't played on the ipad, but it's fine on the phone. A few small bugs, but nothing major and no crashes.
Thanks for your opinions, actually I've bought the game and yes, campaign mode is just micromanagement (lol, sometime this game reminds me ancient era when I was playing Master of Magic... I may give EVERYTHING I have only to see again that game on my ipad!!!). Luckily I'm not experiencing any problems or strange bugs (done some campaign and just few duels until now, keep going playin' lol), probably due to my past as next-to-pro Magic:The Gathering player I've found gameplay quite easy to understand. It's a very fun game, I'm waiting for the incoming sequel and for sure this beats The Necronomicon (btw they're completely different apps lol).
O:LoW is fine on iPad and I'm sure O2 will be too. The animations are phenomenal. Re bugs, with O:LoW, just be careful what you are actually casting. The dreaded phantom cast bug was never repaired for the original and after all this time, it still catches me off guard now and then. And yes, that bug was squashed for O2. Totally.
Sorry for the question, but I don't understand one thing... O2 is scheduled for november 2011, am I right? Reading OP seems so, but I've noticed post was of 2010.
