Sorry, amn, I'm with Quorlan on this one. I'm pretty disappointed here as well. Maybe there weren't posts guaranteeing it, but that was certainly the impression, which no one bothered to correct. Constructed multi is the heart and soul of a card game.

Sorry, I just don't buy your argument here. At the tournament level in Magic, all of your opponents have access to all the cards, no collecting invovled whatsoever. Yet the tourney scene is still vibrant, evolving, interesting, challenging, fun, stimulating, etc.

I hope constructed multi comes out in an update as well. I'll probably still buy it, just to check it out (I missed Orions 1), but without constructed multi (which should have been #1 on your list of stuff to work on), this game just isn't going to be as fun as it could be, plain and simple.

I beg to differ. I mentioned on several occasions that constructed vs. humans had not yet been implemented.

Yes, and as someone who played in the US Nationals TWICE, I can tell you without reservation that DRAFT is as interesting, challenging, fun and stimulating as any other mode. The first round of the Nationals was always booster draft.

    Seriously, me too!!!

Well, it was not MY list. It was the developer's list. This project was WAY more complicated than anyone here can imagine. I'll be happy to play it and enjoy it in its present form and can only promise to pester Pavel repeatedly to implement constructed mp and new cards.

I'll agree that I might have been over-reacting to a certain degree but if you read the posts in this very thread, at no point before now has any mention been made of constructed multiplayer being absent for release. The addition of MP prior to release was welcome news to almost everyone who has been eagerly anticipating this game. It was much ballyhooed by many here who were lucky enough to be included in the beta testing. Many different modes of play were mentioned as well. Including constructed deck.

I reiterate, constructed deck is the heart and soul of any CUSTOMIZABLE Card Game. Notice, I said customizable, not collectible. Frankly I'm not interested in collecting, I'm interested in constructing a custom deck and then testing my skill against other live human beings. Most competitive and even a great many casual players approach CCGs as if they already have all the cards available to them. They then have to go collect those cards to be able to play the decks they build. Which is why many CCG players strive to collect 4 of every card in a set as quickly as possible. So they can forget about collecting and concentrate on customizing.

Orions is a FANTASTIC game for this very reason. You don't have to worry about getting all the cards, you can use any of them that you like and build your deck however you choose. To then NOT be able to play against a human opponent robs the game of the very essence of the CCG experience, testing your wits and skill in both deck construction AND gameplay against another living, breathing, creatively thinking human being. This will cost the game sales, it will generate negative reviews for those who don't read the game description beyond the words CCG and multiplayer (i.e. almost everyone who buys it).

My outrage and frustration stem from the developers yet again seeming to miss the entire point of the game they have created. It baffles me, frankly, to think that anyone who could come up with such a fantastically wonderful digital CCG could so utterly miss the very point of CCGs in general. Ugh.

I am genuinely sorry for my earlier outburst and my first impulse was to edit or delete it an hour later. But as I said, I stand by my disappointment and disillusionment while perhaps setting aside the outrage. I'll still buy the thing just because I'm that much of a fan of the game itself (though terribly frustrated and disappointed by the developers at this point), but without constructed MP I certainly won't be helping to promote it.

Oh, and trust me, I know VERY WELL what goes into developing something like this. I've been working on a whole new kind of customizable card game for well over a year now, with a few developers. I totally respect the difficulties involved in doing this kind of thing. In fact, kudos to the developers for their work, it's a great game! But they are still leaving the essence of what a CCG IS out of yet another release.

My only comment is that pavel should make it clear that constructed decks is not available for MP but is being worked on (if it is) bc there will be some big backlash as others have mentioned

I'm still looking forward to it, I don't play much MP unless there's push notifications so no change for me :b

    Hope to have this soon

i will get it regardless. I'm more of a casual O2 player but I understand how this feature would be in high demand for the hardcore players out there, but wouldnt it take at least 5 mins of picking cards before a game even starts? If decks were pre constructed that would help, but each player could have the same cards. I guess thats okay

It was never said definitely that it would be absent. However, it's abundantly clear that it was never said definitively that it would be available in the first release.

Yes, and lest we forget, MP was not even planned for O2 from the start! If it had not been for the clamor on this forum, I don't think there's any chance MP would have been implemented at all.

Again, via-a-vis constructed deck, there were zero mentions that this would definitely be a feature, other than vs. AI.

This goes without saying. We all want the best possible scenario and that would include constructed for MP. One way to increase the probability of this happening is to support the product. Again, I have no skin in this other than the enjoyment I expect to receive from playing. I will support the product and I will buy it for others and hope to increase awareness to the point where the developer cannot possibly ignore the calls for improvements and expansions.

This is a wonderful description of multiplayer draft. While I also want what you want, even duels vs. humans with a randomly chosen 36 card deck is also pretty great. I'll leave it at that.

No one is being forced to buy it. Those who don't, either didn't want it in the first place and in the second place, will certainly not have the opportunity to enjoy it. That's their choice. I've seen plenty of criticisms about SE too from day one but I own it, have bought cards, play it and enjoy it and understand that it is impossible, literally impossible, to please everyone.

Again, please let me point out that if it weren't for the clamor for MP, O2 would have been out months ago. MP was not even considered for this release. Pavel, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. This was a beast to program. I am certain of that.

I really do not think the developer misses your points. Unfortunately, it is not a perfect world.

You already know from his response to Kyle that he has seen your responses. The more of us that support the game, the more likely we are both going to get what we ultimately want. As well, I understand the realities involved. No promises have been issued. There's a lot more that can go into this one. Crystal has a leaderboard (not sure about GC yet) and that should help to satisfy the MP mindset to some degree. Really, there are so many ways to expand this, it boggles the mind.

Fwiw, if you click on USER DECK and ONLINE, the message is "Currently, we only support Simple Duels and Draft for online gameplay." We can argue all we want about what "currently" means but I think the implication is obvious (yes, I wish I knew for sure).

Re push, you'll have them for invites but it is sync, not async. You can expect to finish most duels within 10 minutes.

I think so but am not 100% sure. When I try to set up for local and custom deck, nothing prevents me and the game actually starts, so it appears the answer is yes. However, I've asked Pavel jic. I'm only using one iPhone (although the new iPad is now on the way!).

As someone who has ZERO interest in online multiplayer, I can safely add to the ongoing debate with a firm, "Whatever; just give me a release date."

And I'll add that I'm glad the AI aspect of O2 seems to be receiving a lot of attention. This will be the key factor in any purchasing decision for me, and for many, many people like me. But it sounds like there's some really cool AI aspects being built in, so I'm cautiously optimistic that O2 will be a solid buy at maybe $4.99 or $5.99.

Thank you for the answer Pavel!

Now all that remains to be done is get the game on the App Store.

There was an earthquake in Japan.

Oh, you mean about the game? Well, apparently its awesome ...

    ...

    ...

    ... if you're a beta tester.

Other than that, no one knows a thing.

Was away for a couple of days and did not get a chance to test MP with Meneisyss yet. Am looking for him on Skype but he's not around right now. The downside is there is a six-hour difference between us.

I have what is supposed to be the final build and everything seems fine vs. AI. If we can only get in a few games, I would think the game is ready to be submitted. Then again, Pavel might already be playing the build with Andrey (who did the art) and may be ready to push it through right now.

The more I look at the art, I am so excited that the new iPad is on the way. HD or not, it's going to be stunning.

I had only two real problems before this build and they both were corrected. Everything else I am concerned about is nit picking, like over and undervaluation of a few cards. I love perfection but the game needs to be out there already.

I somehow just realized that the guys making this also made iDracula and Knights Rush, prolly my 2 favorite games for iOS, and now O2. Pretty weird that one dev makes all my fave games, we must have something in common. Keep up the good work, cant wait for O2!
