Fire & Ice One of the Challenge duels is Fire & Ice. You get to play with Fire & Death and the AI plays with Water & Air. Elements increase by 3 each turn. This makes for a novel challenge and the prospect of the other 8 challenges and who knows, maybe more in the months to come, make Orions 2 many times the fun of the original. In the attached photo, I was a bit behind at the time but my advantage in elements enabled me to forge ahead easily. I had enough to cast another Diablo and pump up all my Fire cards and I couldn't wait for my own Skeleton to die. I loved putting the Wall of Fire opposite the Wall of Souls, which copies the strength of whatever it is opposed to (a perfect way to handle a Chimera, for example). But against a Wall of Fire, it just sulks and dies.
No set date. I suppose we'll have one more build to test and if all goers well, next step submission to i Tunes. I'm just guessing here, but I think we're pretty close. I don't know if the developer actually intended to release this version with MP but I have to admit, he's really gone the extra nine yards to please everyone here who wants this feature.
No... I am so easy to please normally, really! In fact, I just can't wait to get my hands on this game and be the first to write an appstore review... I have a little score to settle, you know?
Tentacle Early on, I kind of intimated that Tentacle might be a little underpowered but it was changed and that is certainly no longer the case. Although it is not easy to get a Tentacle "machine" going, it is possible. I full well understand Izzy's pleasure in summoning these little guys. They deal damage to ALL enemies, including the opponent, so if you have three in play, that's a minimum of 9 damage (3+3+3). Of course, they won't last long, but this is just another facet of this incredible game, finding ways to up the ante, do the deed, and just plain have a blast. The Tentacles below were also Blessed.
Ok. Understood. I'm really just as anxious (I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true), since I have promised to gift this to some friends and cannot wait to be online with them.
Equally important is Ocean Lord, which is able to spawn a Tentacle for 1 water only. And it's a bit similar to the now-nonexisting Ice Wizard in that it decreases most (not all: Elements will still have the max and Tython will always be increased from 1 to 2) Water creature's attack to 1, meaning it's an excellent anti-Water card (albeit still not as good as was Ice Wizard). It's always the first water card I select for my deck in draft mode if available - just like Red Drake for fire or Chimera for Life.
new critters Here's a few from a recent draft vs. AI. Ethereal cannot be harmed by attacks and casting effects. It is a great answer for huge beats on the other side of the field. It keeps on dishing out 2 each turn, wearing down anything on the other side. Of course, you can kill it with Spells cast, so there is an answer for every answer. Soul of Winds starts with 200 health but loses 20 each turn, so its not going to stick around forever. Its attack is equal to the creature opposite it, so no matter how massive the other beast is, Soul of Winds is going to attack it with the same damage. Default damage is 4. Elven Archer does not attack, just shoots its arrow for 5 damage to any creature every turn. Nice to get rid of pesky stuff. Kronos can suck 50% of the current and maximum health away from any creature by casting Aging but it costs 3 Air. Its attack value is equal to the difference between its level and a creature at a lesser level. Lots of great stuff in this set.
I am quite new to this thread. Just want to ask when is it going to be released? Thanks. I can't wait to try.
No release date yet, but it's nearing completion from what I, a beta tester, can assume from the state of the game. Right now the devs are just working on tweaks/fixes to cards and such. Should be very soon. Check out the previous pages for some screenshots
that is really good news. Thanks for your help IzzyNobre. I wish I can be in the beta test. I love boardgames..
MP pics I played 5 duels and a draft with Menneisyys tonight and just wanted to report that the new multi player build seems to be going well. Below, two pics. In the first, I was crushing Meneissys and in the second, he was obliterating me. All told, he had the edge. I tend to be aggressive and he tends to be slow and steady and we all know slow and steady wins the race. Blademaster is pretty huge, comes into play with 30 health and 8 damage is a lot. Not only that, if you damage it, it "rears in fury" dealing 1 damage to each enemy creature. If that wasn't all, you can cast "Shuriken" and deal 2 damage to your opponent. Ftw. The Knight is no slouch either. He's bigger than he looks and has an awesome cast as well. And Diablos are the most fun you will ever have as they pump themselves and other Fire creatures up. Beserker is the only creature that has the ability to continuously cast, doing 4 damage each time to the opposing creature but also doing 4 to himself. Assassin can kill creatures with modest or low health. Giant Spider can weave a web so strong, the creature stuck in it cannot attack. When the Python attacks, its victim loses 1 attack permanently and it can also "Suffocate," killing a creature with health of 5 or less. And there's sooooo much more.
Crystal Crystal is Chillingo's MP version of GC. Here's a few screens, maybe not final and it's not quite functional yet. Just got permission to post these.
so how will matchmaking work? have to invite a friend or there a list of people that want to play or what? also, can you set up mp through gc and crystal?
Some cards are always going to be undervalued and some are always going to be overvalued. That's part of the fun, in figuring out what's best, especially in draft mode. As is, there have been some adjustments along the way and there may still be a few adjustments to come.
Right now, in beta, we just hookup online through GC, not actual invites. Invite mode has been implemented but is still not quite ready. In theory, you will just go online and find someone (hopefully) who is matched with you automatically or you will be able to invite friends that you have already made via GC or Crystal. We use Skype to arrange matches.
