Yes, the shift is the problem and it's disaster for a lefty, because his fist hides the shift and he slides the card up with no idea the last card he double tapped will be cast instead. Pavel is working on a fix right now and has obviated the draft problem with a message that shows what the opponent has drafted. Re price point, I know what the game is worth to me and any potential for multi would lift that price point. I can only comment that I paid top dollar for Orions and definitely got my money's worth. This is a HUGE improvement already. Like I said before, I'd even be happy to delete the Beta and buy it. The developer has earned it. If multi is implemented, the potential is ten-fold, a hundred-fold or more. $2.99?! How much is a booster pack of M:TG? Same price! Omg, is there a comparison?! No way! That said, a lite version would certainly be a great idea and hopefully, suck in a lot of those who have already spent hundred's (or thousands) on Magic cards. O2 = buy of the year imho.
Clarification Just to clarify, I am not saying O2 is going to be worth ten times or a hundred times the price. I am simply saying the potential audience is far more encompassing and the ability to play with other people anywhere/anytime would be absolutely incredible.
Hey man, you're preaching to the choir. I'll buy Orions 2 no matter what, and I'll plug it no matter what. However, not everybody is a Magic player. And you can't compare AppStore prices to Magic boosters, those are two different beasts altogether. Pricing should adhere to AppStore standards, nothing else. By that same logic you could say "Orions should cost 10 bucks, because on the PPC it cost twice that much!". True, but 10 dollars wouldn't reflect the reality of the AppStore pricing scheme. And as History has shown us, even if a price seems attractive in comparisson to other markets (Orions for $4.99 on iOS as opposed to $19.99 on PPC), it's the AppStore ecosystem that matters.
Not arguing, I only know what it is worth to me, not to anyone else. Btw, Pavel just wrote he fully fixed the phantom cast bug but I found another bug in Challenge mode using Fire & Ice. Nothing major I'm sure.
I for one really enjoyed Orions when it first came out. However, even back when Orions was the only option, I remember being bugged just a little by the graphics, I mean the cards had plenty of polish and character to them. But for me, they just seemed too saturated with color someone earlier in this thread referred to it as a "rainbow mess" a little harsh for sure, but I kind of see what they meant. Anyway, I will look forward to O2. I certainly feel the Appstore is big enough for more than one TCG... But I can say this for certain (at least for me), Shadowera trumps (the original Orions) in every conceivable way I truly believe it will redefine TCGs on idevices as we know it!
Guys, correct me if I am wrong, but this thread got me playing Orions 1 again. When you have 5 creatures summoned is there a way to still cast spells? I seem to remember a way on the WinMo version (BTW it was the one thing that made me apprehensive about going to the iPhone 2g) but again I could be mistaken. -Eric
At its current price and this close to Orions 2, no. It's a stellar game, though. Do you play TCGs such as Magic or Yu Gi Oh?
Let me decrease this value: unless you have a mass destruction spell (e.g., Chaos Vortex), ability (e.g., that of Kraken) or have a decent anti-Life card you can quickly access (e.g., Lich), you will most probably be killed. I coudln't even win with an Etheral. These are the only counter-measures I could come up in real games.
Menneisyys, play Fire & Ice and cast a Skeleton in the left hand slot on your first turn. Tell me what you notice after that. Anything strange?
Right. Check it out again. HOW can the AI cast a Python that requires 8 Earth?! Now, cast summon another Skeleton in the second slot. Tell me what happens and look at the elements for both players before you take your third turn. Whoops.
The elements are increased by 3 a time, which is understandable, as neither you nor the AI can use other cards than fire/death and water/earth. This is why the increase of the other, unused categories is added to the increase of the existing categories.
