Music The music is excellent. Yes, I'd rather be able to layer in some of what I have on iTunes from time to time, but what? Incubus when playing with a Death stacked deck? Really, the music is fine. So far.... Noticed a few things that I will need to get back to Pavel with but nothing major and nothing that can't be easily fixed. Such as; last card you choose in the draft, you never get to see what the AI picks, the game just moves on to the next element to draft. Without knowing which card the AI chose of the three remaining, you're at a bit of a disadvantage.
Come on, you're being intentionally dificult. "Went away" is another way of saying "they dropped support for the game and went to work on other things". Maybe so, but why do you say that like it's a bad thing...? An update to a game I played for dozens and dozens of hours, even if it's a late update, is something I can get behind. I can't speak for Pavel, but maybe that's because they felt Orions had already lost it's "thunder", so to speak. With a new release, they could get more attention. Maybe. I don't know. What do you mean, 100% price? We don't know how much it'll cost. And while I don't know the exact numbers, I'd say the amount of cards is nearly doubled from the original Orions. I've encountered very few bugs. The game is smooth and looking great. The new cards are awesome.
I like the art style and enjoyed Orions 1. But come on, multiplayer is a bare minimum for this type of game. I confirmed that the PPC version even has "TCP/IP based multiplayer, which means that you can play over Bluetooth, Wi-fi, or even Internet." Nothing for iPhone? Really?? I'll be an ass an compare to my own upcoming Shadow Era TCG: free to play, universal app with retina and iPad support, full multiplayer with rankings (cross-platform with web and android too), gamecenter integration for leaderboards and achievements. This is 2011, not 2008! This is not talk from a competitor, but from a user and fan of the original way back to the PalmOS days. Please listen to your fans and take the time to add multiplayer so this gem can realize some of its potential on iOS!
but its not an update.. its a new product.. they still sell orions from 2008 with the same bugs in it.. no a single update in 2 years.. what should change? orions2 is the same as orions1.. there are a few more card but most people don't care about the amount of cards.. i rather have a bugfree polished product and 50% less cards.. well you apparently enjoy it ... but there are alot of reasons why orions failed.. and apparently they do not care to fix thoose.. so orions2 will end up like the first one.. unsupported.. support is not only about money.. its shows respect to your customers.. they should have at least removed the bugs.. and there are TONS of it..in O1 so yes i don't look at orions with pink glasses.. i look at it as a customer to got told to **** off we already have your money.. no support is exactly that message. like i said there are alot of way to make think right.. but they do not care. you can still offer orions2 and apply hopefully happened bugfixes to orions1 via an update.. they yould add the new cards as iap for O1 or even add some free new stuff as a sign of godwill.. but nothing of this will happen.. because they just not care.. but there will be always fanboys who buy stuff and ignore even simple stuff as this.. some people like to get threatet bad apparently.. well whatever the price will be for orions2.. its still "100%" the amount of cards was NEVER an issue with orions1... i don't know why you always come up with that.. people do not wanted new cards.. they wanted the game to work properly, then some multiplayer, then some new cards.. just because you are fine with the state of O1 and had enough fun with it doesnt mean the mayority did.. and there the problem lies.. you are satisfied but you are a fan.. you overlook everything.. pad them on the back.. ahh not so bad guys.. just redo everything a second time.. please do not learn form your mistakes.. and thats it.. orions2 should be more than what orions1 should have been.. but its not.. yes i know some more cards.. wow.. i couldnt care less. when the engine is broken the car dealer can gift me a new set of tires.. but thats nothing i personaly would be interested..
Well, I do... and Orions 1 is playable - there're no major bugs in it. And, I think, the more cards, the better - this is why Deckmasters is MUCH better on WinMo than the original Orions. Of course, the lack of any kind of MP is a big pain in the ass.
THIS is the real issue. Not the graphics, not the fact that Orions 2 hasn't had updates, THIS. By the way, I really wish Orions 1 was still at 99 cents -- that way I could recommend it to my followers. It's harder to recommend a 2 year old game without a lite version for $5 ;/
Why should you convince me? Whats different in orion2 except new cards? Its the developer who should convince me to give them my money. And so faar i dont see anything worthwhile... Maybee too hardcore orions fans, but like kyle said its 2011 not 2008.. The iphone is one of the most capable mobile platform and its not an 6 year old ppc. Why should a new owner of an iphone4 not care about retina support, multiplayer, game center etc. If you are a new customer you dont care that this is a ppc ported game.. You compare to the rest of the market and what they offer you.. And if i compare screenshots only from 2008 to 2011 nothing happened there.. I know there is more to it but the majority does not care.. Its outdated already to them. And just new cards doest cut it for me personally.
Come on - name any card game in the AppStore that has the same depth as Orions 1, let alone Orions 2...
At least not yet. Shadow Era looks fantastic, and I would bet some serious cash (like $10 at least ) that we'll see a MtG game at some point in 2011. My two wishes for Orions 2 would be Retina and Game Center MP.
Ok then. Feel free to go away. No one's twisting your arm and demandind you buy the game, dude. We all know it isn't perfect. We're still excited to play Orions with new cards. If you're not, I don't see the point for you to post here, honestly vv
Shadow Era looks amazing, and the beta is pretty good (although I haven't checked in in months... Sorry Kyle!), but I really, REALLY like the gameplay in Orions.
I dont really care for orions 1 tbh the campaign was too much of a drag. With updated campaign on orions 2 and improved AI. I'm set, though multiplayer would be icing on the cake, I'll be more than happy with: fast app switching, anti-aliasing, good AI, good campaign, a lot of cards, and great depth which seems to be there based on information that you guys have said already. Personally I'd pay $10 for this game even without mp. But most ppl $6.99 should be good enough. Just remember the great positive reviews carcassone got since multiplayer was included as opposed to games like neuroshima hex that although very fun still has no multiplayer.
the point is simple.. to post my opinion.. maybee this pavel will read this thread and see what is wrong and what can be done better.. at the end any product doesnt get better by yes men.. critic is what is important not the "all i want is new cards so the rest can stay as crappy as it is.. lalal wonderland".. if you really care about the game you should want it to be more than just a few more cards.. instead making look like the second coming of jesus for card games one should really see it as it is.. an unpolished lump.. i agree that the core game mechanics of orions is good.. but the hole executions lacks alot.. i would love to see a proper orions made for iOS.. not this rehashed ppc stuff.. if thats enough for you guys thats ok.. but apparently not for the mayority else O1 would have sold alot better and the devs would have give the game at least some support.. you know there are different ways to create a product.. one just do it for money.. and the other actaly love their product and care about it.. and it would be actualy great of the devs enjoy orions only 10% of what you enjoy it.. if its only about money its soulless.. orions had a good foundation.. a great core gameplay.. but they just wasted it.. and looking at orions"2".. they just waste it again.. and thats sad..
I agree with mr.Ugly... I remember when Battle for Wesnoth came out around the same time as Rogue Planet published by Gameloft. It was by no means a perfect launch, but I kept at it, listened to the players and supported the game and released update after update. The result is that Wesnoth totally killed Rogue Planet in the rankings, even with Gameloft's backing. I really would like to see Orions do well on iOS, but it takes support from the developer which seems to be really lacking in this case. Even on PPC, Deckmasters was not a stand alone product, it required the original. Now their "Orions 2" for iOS smells like a quick Orions v1.2 cash grab that is an inferior port of their PPC expansion from more than two years ago...
