I'm gonna be linking my followers on twitter to this thread -- specifically, the page with the screenshots. That should raise some awareness about the game.

Just thought of another thing -- isn't Chilingo their publisher? And isn't it the PUBLISHER'S job to deal with things like marketing...? I'm starting to thing our complaints should have been voiced to Chilingo. Maybe we should have told THEM to give the game some more attention.

Too bad a lot of great mass spells are missing to counterattack mass low-level cards - e.g., QuickSands. Zeus is also made much weaker (I've also complained of this to Pavel, stating that the only point in using Zeus was its under-7 attack capability). But, at least, it's a bit stronger (3 vs. 4) and is considerably cheaper (7 vs. 9 Air).

Agreed. Nothing to complain about. One should compare how the iPhone4/iPT4 renders the game to that of Windows Mobile :) The latter is really-really ugly when compared to the iPhone. Day and night is the difference.

The game is pretty even in 2x mode on the iPad. (I've played Orions2 quite a lot today on my iPad while running on an elliptic machine in the gym.)

Damn. I should've sent Pavel my iPad's UDID, too :(

I keep imagining a multiplayer Orions 2 with IAP (say 2-3 new cards for each "color", or even theme packs (6 new black cards, or 6 new green cards, you get the idea) and assynchronous matches.

You've all played Uniwar and Words with Friends, right? What you have is a lobby with a list of your on going games. You can jump into one, received the latest move made by the oponent, then make your own. Perhaps a little trash talking via voice chat/text chat...?

IAP for cards would make some people cry foul, but this is a trading card game, god dammit. EVERY TCG hinges on the fact that the more cards you have, the more equipped to defeat the oponent you are. It's just the nature of the game.

Besides, if you're a casual player, you could just stick with the stock card selection. If you're like me (a competitive TCG addict) you'd be buying every single pack they put out. Hell, I have Magic cards lying around EVERYWHERE in my house :D

Oh man... One can dream

Oh, wow. Awesome! Congrats on the popular site. That's really cool.

Are you Brazilian? Portuguese? (sorry, not to get too far off thread topic)

Runtime antialiasing does wonders. Just check out the three shots I've just made.

iOSScreenshot.PNG: native screenshot made with Power+Home - pixelizated because of pixel doubling.

iphone4photo.JPG: shot with a camera (Pana ZS3, ISO 100, 1/8, full brightness, -2 EV). It's antialiased - just check out e.g. the upper right swords. While pixelization is really apparent in the first shot, it's much less visible in the antialiased one. As you can see, it's much-much less pixelizated in real life than the pure screenshots made with Power+Home.

Finally, winmo.JPG shows how ugly and pixelizated Deckmasters is on a high-resolution VGA screen under WinMo. Day and night compared to the antialiased Retina screenshot, isn't it?

Interesting. I guess I'm in the minority on this one. But I don't like the quick matches, and ONLY play campaign. In fact, I've beat the campaign something like 16 or 18 times. Maybe more. On every difficulty, every map size, every color.

Yeah, the building part is pretty silly. But I like the progression of going from a barely functional mess of a deck (I play non-uniform, extended deck usually) to a finely-tuned monster of a deck. Then: it's world clobberin' time!

The multiplayer in Uniwar and Chess/Words with Friends is, the way I see it, THE way to do turn based multiplayer on a mobile platform. While individual moves only take 10-15 seconds, the game itself might take a bit longer than that.

But whatever, any sort of online multiplayer will make me plug this game constantly in every forum I'm a member of.

    Incidentally, "Disperser" is spelled wrong.

Hah, how did I miss that one?

That's gonna be a bitch to correct, I imagine. It's in the art.

Oh yeah! Gosh, can't believe I forgot about this till now.

One feature that (sorry for the caps, this is necessary) ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE IN THIS GAME is the ability to play your own music!!

I was always SO annoyed that I can't do that with Orions: LoW.

Could somebody who's beta-ing please, please, threaten/beg/cajole Pavel into including this must-have feature?

I, too, enjoy the game's music. But the 100000th time, not so much!

Thanks for the graphics comparison screenshots, Menneisyys. Very interesting! And I gotta say, you're right: the antialiasing totally works. Close enough to retina that only the most bitchy TAers will be bitching. (and they will, because it is their right, as evil wankers)

Possibly. Though if you just grab the S pixels in photoshop and drop them over the C, flatten the image...can't be too bad.

But yeah, assuming Pavel's native tongue isn't English, he's done darn well in having so few misspellings.

are the completly new cards for ios? something that wasnt avaiable in the pcc version before?

why the negativity.. possible you should read the thread from the very beginning.. no support for orions1 whatsoever.. orions1 is still pretty buggy and some basic stuff doesnt work properly.. but yeah.. who cares..

its like ea who didnt want to fix bugs in NFS but will do fix in the next NFS game..

i already paid for orions1.. got no support whatsoever on alot of things.. so why should i be excited about orions 1.2 aka orions 2?

they did not even changed the itunes description for ages.. the german text says its an introduction price for the release of the game...
    the release was 2008!!!!

if the support for orions 1.2 err.. orions2 will be as awesome as for the first one.. this will be a great game.. and people wonder why orions did not sell..

No need. I've been here a long time, and I bought Orions pretty much right on launch. I've talked with the dev several times and I'm quite familiar with the history of the game.

YES, Orions 1 had no support. We all know this, and we all pretty much got over it. It's old news at this point. We're looking forward now, not backwards.

But they are back now, and they have a new product to offer, and a (hopefully) different mindset. Being a fan of the first game, I can't help but be excited about this new Orions.

Whatever happened with giving people a second chance? Come on, it's not like you spent 100 bucks on the game. At most, you spent five dollars. Orions had NO SUPPORT, true, but I still played it for hours -- the way I see it, I got my five bucks worth of entertainment.

That's why some of us still trust Pavel e MoreGames. Even if they sort of abandoned the game, it was still a fun ride :)

I can't begin to tell how many hours I spent on Orions. For the money, it was a steal.

what does it mean they are back..? they never went away.. they just spend time into other products and not caring about orions..

so this is a new product? really.. looks like an update to me honestly..

anyway.. you are a fan, so its hard to argue

there are so many ways they could make up for the crap they did before..

why not update the original orions? offer the new cards as iap.. and orions"2" is like the gold edition with all content included for new player..

but no.. for 100% price i will get 60-70% of the content i already have.. thats great..

again hard to argue with fans who are even testing the game.. at least you guys can check if they fixed all the bugs in orions.
