I am sorry if this was discussed before, I only read this thread ocasionaly. I believe there is a bug with Hermit: I have seen a few instances where he inexplicably insta-killed certain creatures.

This is Hermit on the PPC version:
    http://pocketmoregames.com/games/orions_addon2/orionscreen15.htm

I believe that his passive ability from the PPC version has been transfered to O2, despite it not being specified in the card's rules. This should be fixed.

It's a known bug - the description should be updated: Hermit instantly kills creatures with level 3 or less.

If you see someone who goes by "JDS", don't play him, he quits on all the matches i've played against him, right before the winning strike.

Sorry guys haven't been playing much, been getting into some other games including...

    Ascension.

The reason I mention Ascension is not only because its an awesome deck building game but also because this is what Orions 2 could have been. The multiplayer aspect of the game is incredible. Game lobby's are setup by a host player (1v1, 1v1v1, or 1v1v1v1) which you're free to join at any time, knowing exactly who you're playing against which makes it easy to find someone from TA to play with or see exactly how many people are online at a time, which is something we have all been crying for in this forum. The game is asynch multiplayer but most of my games are completed in 30 minutes or less, with little if any breaks inbetween. The reason asynch multiplayer is nice however is it lets me to text my girlfriend/friends during the game and or really plan out my move which I felt I can't do with O2.

The ingame interface is also maybe the neatest I've seen in any game. The log feature shows exactly what happened during your opponents turn and you're free to go back all the way to turn one.

One other thing, is I have never encountered a bug in my past week or so of playing the game. no bugs at all! between card interactions or setting up games which is honestly great. The only thing I can actual think Ascention needs is elo/leaderboard/ranked w/l's for multiplayer, but that too is something Orions lacks.

Now I love O2, probably equal with the gameplay of Ascension, however the dedication and effort put into the game by the devs is much much more then Orions 2 has ever received. It pains me to imagine that if Orions 2 was given the same effort put into the game how awesome it could have been.

But whatever, I recommend you all check out Ascension if you haven't already its a fantastic deckbuilding game, which is different then your typical card game, so at the very least try the lite if you're a fan of the genre of card games.

I didn't mean for this to turn out to me threadjacking this into me trying to sell Ascension to you, rather just point out what it does better then Orions 2.

Unfortunately, multiplayer will soon be dead on Orions 2. Games are getting harder and harder to come by, and it's obvious there will be little or nothing done to improve or promote the game. The track record of the first Orions and the fact that Pavel is already working on another game should allude to that. And throw in Chillingo for a trifecta of doom.

On a positive note, I got to play JDS today, waited until he was about to beat me, and then quit. ;)

OT: never player an deck building game, so the gameplay mechanic feels very fresh to my.. trying the lite (which is universal too!) and the only thing i don't like is the fuzzy card illustration.. which look somtimes like rough scribbles..
but thats the style.. so forgiveable. overall very interesting.. will play some more before deciding to buy the full version..

back ontopic.. as for orions2 havent played it in quite a while.. interest just switched off.. but there is so much fresh new games flodding into the iOS market its hard to keep players interested into a single game getting them to come back..

now would really be the time to have an online player indicator so you don't wast your time sitting in orions waiting for a connection which probably will not happen anyway because no one is online at that time..

well traffic in this thread died out also quite fast in the last weeks.. people probably went onto other games..

well lets hope they make an decent update that adresses a huge chunk of bugs & features.. that might blow some more life into orions..

agree this game was screaming for asynch mp and if added would revitalize imo as the actual gameplay is awesome. Also add another agree to the above opinions on ascension, just truly awesome and polished game.

Just a non-glitchy lobby and asynch and maybe a real leaderboard (fixing the disconnects of course) would honestly make this game two times better.

a small patch, touch arcade review, and .99c sale would do wonders

I've played Ascension, while a surprisingly good game, with feature i'd love to see implemented in Orions 2, it's clearly not in the same league in terms of interface and gameplay.

why should Orions2 succeed and have a lot of active players? the game has balancing issues, not good enough visuals, a lot of bugs. also talking into the account the fact that already the first game has not got needed updates one can be sure this one won't get them either. personally i just bought it, played some games and that's all. there are better games to play on ios.

Not saying your wrong, just saying your opinion differs from mine and just about every other opinion and review that I have read about ascension so far.

Ontopic: I would like to know if there is going to be any DLC with new cards, that would be awesome.

    Offtopic:

Spectromancer, a Orions like game, is on sale in Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/22500/

    Just FYI

Orions 2 is Just the original Orions with an update. I bought the first one with promises of updates more cards and what not. And what did we get? Not one update zero zilch. There's no chance this one is any different. I refuse to support this game until they show they are willing to actually do what they say.

And oh yea ascension is awesome no comparison in quality or UI.

    Yes.

I just emailed Eli. Again. Sigh. As much as I love TA, sometimes I just don't get it.

I'm not sure why Eli would review this game -- it's not as if Orions 2 is very different than the 1st.

Minimal effort was put into making this game. Some of the bugs from the first Orions are still there, campaign mode is pretty bad and hardly any different from the first one, multiplayer is full of glitches, and as we know, there's not really going to be anything new done to this game except maybe fix some of the bug in 3-6 months. Basically, it's just multiplayer and some new cards (and with some cards removed).

I haven't been able to get a multiplayer game going for the past 2 days, whether it be no one there or the games not starting. And it's not like we are going to get an influx of new players that will stick around, especially when there are so many other games that are good and with the company/programmers constantly improving it.

Conclusion: Let Eli review games that deserve it.

PS: I love Orions 2, but it's sad to see such a good game go to waste.

Hate to see this game fall to the wayside. It has so much potential.

I'm still looking for players, and when I can find a game, it's usually been awesome. I haven't been able to find one for a while though, and it's only a matter of time before I make a move over to Ascension or Kard Combat.

Try Ascension I've been having fun though it gets a little stale sometimes... Would be alot funner with names I recognize. If anyone from O2 has the game add me and lets play a few. If only O2 had the same online interface as Ascension man... Kard Combat i'm pretty interested in.

I think we can all say we got our money's worth in Orions 2 but it honestly had the potential to be so, so much more.

I can only assume you either got the games backwards there, or else you're completely joking ...

Yeah I got Ascension. Looks just like my sort of thing. Learning the mechanics now, any hints?

If you're around though, I still fancy a game of Orions :D
