Yes, it's happened to me too in alternating picks and even happened once in beta (not sure whether Mene & I alternated, we might have). Just trying to pin down exactly when and why?

The program is obviously set to cycle from 19 mana to 25 mana for your first turn when it expects you to take the first turn. I think the alternation may throw that out of whack somehow. If it happens without the alternation, I can't understand why.

Can it be that the reason TA STILL hasn't done a review of O2 is that they're waiting for the first update, so they don't have to note its bugs?

Because the only OTHER reason I can come up with is that Eli is just too biased against anything non-Magic the Gathering.

    :/

So does this game really live up to the hype? I've been looking for a good CCG on iphone but never got the original Orions. What is replayability like in the single player campaign for this game?

The campaign mode isn't the draw. Duel mode is where you get all the replayability, and it's endless. I played the original Orions for two and a half years without getting bored. This game has more cards, more balance, and online multiplayer.

I am not a regular on this site and even i think it is strange that this game didn't get a review but a ton of trash does. Yet the front page will put up an article two days ago about an upcoming similar game and in said article it will badmouth this and other CCG's. I really thought that came across as childish and fanboish. You can practically hear the drool as he gushes over the dude who makes those games it just came across as very creepy.

Just my 2 cents take them for what they are worth. I never played Orions 1 or magic the gathering or any other CCG, but I do play orions 2 quite often and as a non card game guy I find it fun and pretty polished. If i was the developer of this game I really wouldnt want this site to review the game though as you can tell anything that isn't made by that magic guy is not going to be up to snuff for whoever wrote this article

Dunno, but he covered Kard combat and it's out ONLY in Canada. That's right. Canada and nowhere else.

Have you guys tried Kard combat? It's pretty much a fcked up straight copy of orions 2. I'm playing the 1st level (tutorial) and the rules explained are exactly like orions, the mechanics work exactly like it, the first two cards that I played have the exact effect as orions.

They made me play a wall of fire...then the lightning magic that deals damage to 1 opponent card and life. WTF...WTF TO ELI for writing that article and WTF to this "respected and renowned" developer. And it feels cheap...

Thanks.. I was just curious how much gameplay I'd get out of single player as I'm not too interested in the online multiplayer.

I've been playing it for days, which certainly says it has value, but there's no comparison for me. I'm treating it as an unfinished work since it is still only a Canada release, and there is a lot of work to do.

None of the cards have casting ability. Many are either hugely op or up. There is no counter for KC's equivalent of an Elemental. No Ethereal. No Giant Spider. If you can't cast your own huge critter opposite, too bad. And btw, almost zero in the way of combos. Whatever I've found is pretty trivial.

I like it because I am a huge fan of the genre but at present, I think O2 is ten times the fun, 10 times the strategy, and 10 times the tension.

Just so everyone understands where I am coming from, I was a betatester for O2 and am the worlds biggest fanboy of same.

Just lost because of a Raise Dead. Never thought I'd see the day... Although the game was pretty much gone anyway.

Giant Spider badly needs a nerf. I don't think making it cost 7 is the answer though. Zeus can't hit it, and it's still too easy to get 7 earth for that level of power, especially with the +3 attack with another earth creature. 18/7 stats if you summon in conjunction with a Satyr. Those are the stats of a Lich.

The Spider should cost 6 have 15 health (14 for Centaur, 16 for Enchanter, it makes sense), not have its attack buff, and its cast cost 1 earth. Still useful, but now you can't have double spiders, and it basically requires 7 to be used upon entry.

Thats a huge nerf. Either keep everything the same and its cast cost 1, or remove its added effect of +atk and EITHER raise the cost to play to 7 OR reduce its HP.

    NOOOoooooo!!!

I was in the best game ever against Galtus. Incredible fast paced and exciting match, and my internet cuts out!

I was 8 health from victory!

Its cast has to cost 1 to be balanced. But without its cast, it's still incredibly strong. 18/7 stats as I quoted earlier is Lich level. It still needs to be nerfed.

A small health reduction to 15 would make it acid stormable. I guess it can keep its added effect of +atk. That'd be balanced in my opinion.

Its cast changes games on its own already...

I agree about the attack bonus, which is crazy. Not sure it needs additional nerfs but I'll mention it to the dev. Mene, what do you think?

    Bug reports

The developer has asked for a list of bug reports. I do not have the time to go through the archives. If you know of any bugs, please respond with details, including any documentation if available.

I know everyone wants an update. Here's the opportunity to have it done 100% correctly.

Returned from the brink! Chimera + Dark Druid can take on anything, anything at all.

Had a Chimera on 10 health versus a Fire Elemental, Elven Archer, Water Troll and Ghost.

1 Mooncast saves the Chimera. I take 7 damage direct to put me on like 16 health versus his 50. Dark Druid comes in +12 heal. He tries desperately to kill the Chimera, but falls 10 damage short. Acid storm, and now the game's changed. He loses everything out on the field, I lose my Chimera, but my Druid's high health keeps him alive and my element advantage sees me through.

In the end, I had 73 health. This game can swing so easily with the right combinations.

haha i once had a druid + chimera. dominated. The spider is def the most annoying creature to face. Im not sure the best solution for it but either a 1 earth cost for the cast or a 2-3 hp damage per use

amn, please, read my earlier posts here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/search.php?do=finduser&u=81503 there are many bug reports with screens.
Do not forget to tell the dev about Refresh/Earth Chant/Healing Wind/etc descriptions. By the way, there are anoter one mistake in Purify's description - it also heals the player for 5HP. Do not forget about strange Diablo's ability to increase owner's Fire by 5 whenever Fire spell is casted (I think it's a bug in the game, not a wrong description.. 2 Diablos + Blind spell = freezing your opponent).

About the Spider. I don't think his cast should cost 1 Earth. I think increasing his level to 7 OR decreasing HP to ~15 will be ok.

p.s. it would be nice if they add 2-3 new cards in the update :p I miss Efreet (it was the logo of O1, why did they cut him from O2?), Phoenix (nice card against Ritual+Vulcan), Titan (Air needs strong cards), Vampire and finally Unicorn (well.. I think they definitely should return Unicorn, with this card Life would be really more useful).

Spider definitely needs its cast costing 1 earth. Dual spiders is too strong.
