Way to be a dick Karma . Havent been playing much lately, lost motivation. The only games I can find are duels which are largely decided by luck, especially against the top players (Gazer comes to mind). And draft mode is brokenly unfair unless you find a player in this thread to play with. Still lots of fun. Just losing motivation.
I really hope they fix draft. It would definitely the best way to play...except, maybe, for constructed..
Ok, i've seen you change your name I guess you've proven yourself. ehehe that's what i was thinking (and i won't say anything else) Btw, i finally found Vaka (the cheater) on a match ehe. And yes the ranking system is not good, but for example, Galtus came late into the game and ranked up easily because he's just that good. I've only played him like 4 or 5 times, totally underestimated him because i never seen his name before, but got my ass kicked on 3 of those matches and the next thing you know, he's up there. I agree with rekirtS. There's rarely a game where you have a satisfying sense of winning, specially against good players. It's all about luck with the cards you get. I said rarely, but those great matches do happen though. I wish the game would be tweaked.
Assume Vaka won some random game and the GC server hiccuped into some type of mad loop. That would account for the insane number you see for him. There's no real evidence he is a cheater. I have to disagree. While there's no question that luck plays a role, the draw is usually close enough to at least give one a chance to figure out a way to win. Put it this way; say good draw = one-third, okay draw = one-third, crap draw = one-third. Two of nine matches is good draw versus crap draw. Not terrible. I'll be happy with those odds. Wishlist: 1) alternate draft 2) obvious bug fixes, i.e., Blademaster loop 3) more challenges 4) notification how many players online (draft, duel)
Hey do you guys know who the guy is who plays under "Newb"? He's easily the best player I've faced, beaten me twice despite me making no obvious mistakes. He seems to be able to get a lot of mana really fast. I don't know how he does it. One game, he pulled out two kraken's in the game. I killed one with a berserker, but somehow, he just seems to be able to pull out a bigger creature than I can every turn yet still stockpile mana. I didn't have the nicest hands, but not the worst by any means. When I played him the second time, I focused everything on building mana knowing it was hard to compete, but it just didn't work even with Wings of Wisdom. He always had more. I'm itching to play him again to see if I can outgun him. I would think it was Menneisyys, but since I've played him twice now, he has a different playing style. This guy teases you. He knows he's slowly gaining an advantage, so he watches as you struggle to compete rather than hit home fast and hard.
Heh. Unbelievable. First, I shouldn't have to prove myself. Second, all that does is show that I've spoken the truth and was right. And that you slandered me as a liar, was wrong, and probably owe me an apology. Because I guess you still haven't proven yourself until you do, yeah?
Meneisyys always played me under the name (are you ready?) Meneisyys. Menne is definitely an early mana type of player but the name "Newb" doesn't sound like something he would use. Good idea: we should all post what name or names we play under. So far, I've always been "Mysterione.TA" (a name left over from Pocket Legends) but I've been tempted to change it for something really dramatic, like "KatyPerry."
Most of the time, yes; sometimes, however, I forget to change the name from PLAYER (I reset / reinstall / update / hack my devices on a daily basis got my programming articles, developments and lectures, which means I frequently forget to reconfigure the newly-installed Orions to show my nick). BTW, I've also played Newb (before starting to record matches), he's indeed very good.
Nice wishlist. I'd like all of that. I'm adding: - ELO leaderboard based on win/loss record rather than just win counter. - Fixed draft mode - equal mana, alternating element starting picks - Card tweaks I have some proposals for them: Water Rust - costs 6, hurts for 3 damage instead of 2. Scylla - costs 5, same stats, gives opponent +3 water when comes on, cast: heals self for 5, opponent gets 2 water. This is a tricky one to balance. You want to keep its water gifting qualities, but not have it hurt you so much. It must be a valid unit for playing. Compared to Apostate and Shadow, it pales, and even with the changes, it's still a bit underpowered, but it has uses because of its good stats for a quick rush. Washaway - Costs 6. Think Quick Sands from Orions 1 but 2 killed maximum. Sea Monster - Starts on 4 attack instead of 2. When you're pulling a unit that level, it needs more power right away. Water Troll - Heals self for 2 instead of 3. Same apart from that. Just a tiny nerf needed there. Elementalist - Weak because of its low health. 24 health instead of 18, and it might have some use. Kraken - 35 health. Deep Hunger decreases all elements by 1, not for each creature. Fire - Forbidden Magic - Costs 3, deals 2 damage to enemy player for each fire creature in play. - Fire Burst - Costs 4, deals damage to enemy creatures equal to half fire, no damage to own creatures. - Lava Spider - Costs 6, 7 health starting. This unit is great fun, but seriously underpowered compared to the other level 6s (Giant Spider, Water Troll). Attack increases by 1 each turn as well should make it useful. - Blademaster. Costs 10. Too high powered for a level 9, especially with blood ritual hovering around. - Diablo. Costs 10. It's an amazing unit, and if fire creatures die around it, it'll easily boost the fire back up to a level where Diablo combo-ing is still a viable tactic. - Fire Elemental - Costs 12. You shouldn't be able to pull one out right after a blood ritual. Some may argue the fire nerfs are harsh, but really, their high end creatures are some of the best in the game, and they're coming in at 9 instead of the 10s and 11s of the other elements. It's still possible to get a blademaster or diablo right after a blood ritual, but getting an elemental right after and decreasing opponent's fire by 3 is just too much to overcome in 90% of games. I'll get round to the other elements later. Let's see if we can have some discussion on changes here.
It's its ability that it's worth using in some special cases - that is taking out very powerful, self-healing etc. cards. E.g., I've just played a player "OraNera", who deployed a Water Troll. Knowing how hard it is to get rid of the Troll, I've immediately brought in an Elementalist, just to the opposing slot of Troll, and linked to the Troll. It only took me one turn (8 damage first, then, the rest was done by my Assasin so that Elementalist doesn't get killed because of the second 8 damage delivered by Troll. A video of all this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU_f1kNLzBc (see from 2:05)
I don't think i have to apologize for anything. I still firmly believe that your numbers don't compare to your class as a player. Even if i can't speak for most of the people here, i'm sure they were as surprised as i was to know that the player that ranks more wins is Ashcroft. I don't play this game as much as you do, but the playerbase is fairly low, so i can easily know when i'm up to a challenge as soon as i see my opponents name. And i'm sorry for being honest, but it's not the case with you, at all.
Blood Ritual and Water Troll were nerfed in the beta. Water Troll's cast had only cost 1 and if I remember, Ritual gave you 10 extra mana. Can't remember all the was adjusted but Megaworm cost was lowered. Menne, remember any more?
Yeah those were good changes. Water Troll is still too powerful though. It takes something many times its level to kill it. The only starting unit half decent against it is Swordsman.
Yea the fact that it -heals 3 life every turn and 16 life -does double damage to High level creatures -spell attacks 3 opposed creatures And only costs 6 is pretty nuts, def one of the hardest cards to get rid of. Sometimes best to monk and ignore if possible
OT: guys, do any of you have an iPhone 4 and use it frequently to take video and would like to (vastly) enhance it (bit rate lowering, drastic field-of-view widening etc.)? If you're, and your phone is already jailbroken, let me know and I'll send you my latest utility doing the above, even before it gets officially released
