It worked Good game man. You need to buff your mana faster. I had Skeleton and Elemental out early to get those fast increases. Rematch?
Game was going good camzy until I left my spots amazingly open. Should have cloned across and covered them. From there you wiped me out from 50 health down to what was it 15 health in one go! Good work, you set up a relentless attack.
Clones are no good. They each take damage if one gets hit. The costs of 5 air and 2 each to clone will just leave you really weak, because when one dies, you practically lose all the others.
Hehe. Worst combo in O2. Clones and Air Shield. Oh well. While it limits the damage, they're still gone soon enough. And without Air Shield, 1 Beserker can pretty much demolish destroy 3 Clones for 7 mana versus cost of 11 mana. They're good in very few situations. For instance, needing to fill up the board before a Vortex or Kraken wipes it clean. Even then, it's a huge drain of Air mana for the effect. Or, if you really have the advantage and can Empower on the next turn and have 3 +5 attackers, it's not the worst thing you can do, but typically, they die way too quickly. This is an example of a very attractive design idea that is so tempting for a weaker player, another reason why this game is so great - you really need to bone up on what is in the set and what situations to use those cards best to your advantage.
Is there a God in Orions2? Yes there is: A "reconstructed" Water Troll fitted with "armor" and "shield".
A GREAT strategy is as follows: if you have Dispercers and Chaos Vortex, you might want to go for Dispercer rush, particularly if your opponent doesn't know you do have Chaos Vortex and keeps on bringing in big and strong guys so that, preferably after a mass killer spell (Firestorm, Earthquake etc.) he can hit you with all its strong cards at once. (He'll, if he's smart enough and has the card, may have a Magic Healer on the field to avoid the adverse effects of another well-known strategy used by mass Dispercer rushers: Steal Life). Then, when your Death reaches 13, just a quick Chaos Vortex, and he'll stand there without any mana, without any cards - while you have tons of mana I've been beaten once using this tactics.
Interestingly, a lot of people still use mass clone rush. They do have an advantage over the otherwise (particularly when mass-deployed) far stronger Ocean Lord + Tentacle rush - they have a much higher starting HP. Remember to bring in a Slug and constantly cast its ability on some of the clones (or, using mass-attacker cards like Blade Master / Leviathan) when playing a player who mass Clone rushes for the parallel damage.
In early beta testing, when I really didn't know the cards well at all, I would wonder why is he bringing out these dumb pathetically weak creatures? I found out but good. Btw, Menneisyys has two accounts on GC, so his total wins are considerably higher than what it shows. I hate to see Blood Ritual but I hate seeing Dispercers a lot more. Worst opening card? Ugh. Had three such games recently. Had nothing good to do, nothing decent at all. In two games I just gave up my turn, hoping to build a little more mana and in the other, I would up casting my best choice, a Slug. Yikes.
There is one case when not being the first to move is considerably better: when your opponent doesn't have Blood Ritual and/or quick refresher / mana bump up spells like Wings of Wisdom / (Water) Refresh so he may go for bringing in a card with considerably high (more than 3) strength. Otherwise, if you're the first and have the Dispercer (and don't have e.g. Blood Ritual to deliver direct damage to your Dispercers right at the beginning of the game), you'll always be in the worse position. Do you bring in a Dispercer right at the beginning? There's a huge chance your opponent casts a weak card you otherwise would need to kill ASAP (e.g., Nymph, Monk etc.) against it. Do you bring in a stronger card or a weak mana bump-up card first? He'll surely bring in a strong card (or a Dispercer if he does have it too and you have picked a stong card).
Dispercers super overated here IMO. Crappy opening card, only good when spammed > acid rain/vortex, decent against fatties but really only stalling time your still screwed without Enslave or Bloody wind. Given the chance in draft mode I would take spider, Molach (personally my favorite earth card), Earthquake, Centaur, Kobald, Satyr over it most times. Just from memory too. Hosting duels btw come find me. Will draft if someone wants too (of course).
I've discovered a new super combo! It's Refresh + Kraken. 1. Bump your Water elements to 15 using Refresh 2. Cast Kraken 3. On the next turn cast Refresh and use Kraken's ability - Deep hunger 4. go to 3 Almost an instant win if your opponent doesn't have Black Wind or Enslave (or doesn't have enough elements to cast these spells - while he will accumulate mana you will deal 7 damage each turn , so if he has Enslave and only 1 Death mana it won't help, because you will deal 70 damage ). Also, Kraken is strong against Fireball, Earthquake, etc, because he has 30 hp.
haha yea I played against a guy that did that to me awhile ago and I actually killed his Kraken! I cant remember what it took but maybe force of nature + berserker or something. He ended up winning in the end but i was proud of myself. I've had some really good games lately. A lot of people out there are getting pretty advanced
Not a good night. Crappy cards, quirky things happening with the clock, a quitter in the only decent game I played....one of those nights, I guess. Sigh..... Probably best to do the reset thing and maybe even read a book. Who am I kidding, I'll probably be back online later.
Yeah there are some games where you just get the worst cards. I remember once I had no cards above level 8 in any element except earth with Moloch, and I didn't have blood ritual, wings of wisdom or any way to increase my elements. Needless to say I lost, and it was particularly hard because I knew I was a better player too.
It has a lot of decent uses. The game is all about mana, and few things boost mana as effectively as dispercers. You can put it in front of an elemental with like 15 attack, and it dies in one hit, boosting all your mana in one go. It's one of the best stalling cards. I won a game once when my opponent had 3 level 10+ units out and I did almost nothing but play dispercers, spells, fairies and nymphs. It was an incredibly satisfying win
I used to like it but not anymore. It is very easy to counter his double damage by taking away even 1 hp and him not attacking below hp is another big minus. Plus his hp is low to begin with.
