I was playing Theodicee just now. Draft mode. Played 4 games. Interestingly, the player who picked and moved first lost the match in the first 3 games. I won 3 out of 4. The last game I finally managed to "hold serve" so to speak. Is it really that much of an advantage picking first?
Picking first maybe, but not moving first. Also, players have different strategies. Theodicee picked Manticore first out of the air creatures, and I had no inclination to get it whatsoever, so in effect, we both got first picks. I like Astral Cloud personally. Rarely did I get angry for not being able to get a card, and if one that I was eyeing up was taken, I thought about it for a moment then got a card to counter the ones he had taken so far. One game, he had blood ritual, water troll, giant spider, yet still lost because I played a dark lord perfectly. I won 94-0 in the end. I can see how it can be an advantage, but the diversity of cards is very good, so even a slight disadvantage can be overcome with good strategy. I think of it as white vs. black in chess. Edit: The only big disadvantage is starting out with less mana, and that isn't an issue if you just pick as the game guides you. There's also the fact that elements start out at base differently. I could have 5 air to start one game and cast Wings or start with 2 and not be able to.
Explain to me how getting first pick in every element is more fair than each player getting first pick in 3 elements? Its a big advantage. I'll explain later if you really need me to.
Why do you consider Berzerker and Kobold OP? They are both solid cards, but I haven't yet met a situation where they seemed OP.
It's not more fair. You're right. Getting first pick in 3 is ideal, but it's not as big a disadvantage as you make it seem.
Definitely yes, but you might be the stronger player and may have made better draft choices as well. Draft is more skill than duel mode.
Not sure anything needs nerfing. Menneisyss and I played a lot of games in beta and nothing was broken. The best thing about this game is that there is a counter for everything, including Water Troll.
I'm not the most experienced O2 player, but I do agree with that. I don't think there is a single creature that doesn't have an effective adversary, whether that's another creature or a spell.
I can't argue with that, you got your points. I'm not a big fan of card game, so games make me put time on it are 1) game play 2) graphic 3) story when O1 selling at the first couple week, the dev just begging people to buy and promise to add new cards in later update, BUT THEY NEVER did their promises. now after 2 years or sth, they release O2, what's new? 1) game play, NO 2) graphic, NO 3) story, NO the O1 promised card set yes, but you need to pay for it, that piss me off. at least do some refine work on the graphic or characters
If Orions isn't the type of game that make you put time into it, then why are you putting time into it? 1) Game play: lots of bug fixes and re-balancing went into Orions 2 that makes cpu duels more fun. Something you won't appreciate because you don't take the time to find out. 2) Graphic: the graphic looked fine to me before and it still looks fine to me now. Why would you spend time redrawing art that looks awesome already? 3) Story: Wtf you expecting a story for? Orions 1 never had a story and the devs never promised you story shit. Here's an Orions story mode scenario for you: A long time ago blablabla some history about evil dark lords taking over the peaceful kingdom... You, the brave knight "ImLegend", decides to fight back blablabla... -MISSION 1- You decide to attack Zorg the half brained zombie who is terrorizing the town's children. Duel!......... You lost. Try again. Duel!......... You lost. Try again. Duel!........... You finally won! -MISSION 2- Zorg has become a full brained zombie to take revenge on you! (Read: Hard mode - Archmage) Duel!......... You still want Orions story mode? "I'm not a big fan of card game" yet you admit to buying Orions 1 and playing a lot before. "I'm not a big fan of card game" yet you still bought Orions 2 and was dumb enough not to try the lite. "I'm not a big fan of card game" so stick to it, forget Orions, move on and don't come back here.
Yes I'm big dumb ass to buy this game, if u own O1, "don't buy" is my advice. Well, don't be mad or rude. Look like I'm not welcome here, peace. Btw, good sale for ur game, lazy but greedy dev
Your welcome, don't forget to read the story mode I wrote for you, I just added it on to my comment before. I still can't fathom why there are people like you who rage about 3 bucks. But I sure get a kick out of making fun of you.
Another one of my favorite combos that I discovered recently: Shark + Ethereal = Unlimited increase in attack
You're hysterical, dude. I'm sure Pavel wishes he made one tenth the money you think he has made. Greedy?! At $3?! That's $2.10 net to Chillingo. And how much is Pavel's cut? Good grief.
ImLegend, we know you don't like Orions and you obviously feel ripped off. That's fine; no one is saying you have to like it. But your argument is unreasoned as you have purchased O2 despite feeling the way you do about the first game and, indeed, card games in general, not to mention your feelings towards the developer. It just makes no sense. I would suggest you put it down to experience and move on. Such is life. To avoid disappointment in future, you should always install the lite version (if available) of an app first. Oh, and checking out reviews and TA threads will also help you decide.
That's an obvious one, but one that isn't really practical in most situations. Dispercer is quickly becoming my goto early unit. Its whole purpose is to die, and that is easily arranged. 2 dispercers + acid storm = 15 damage, +5 health, +2 mana for everything.
