Can anyone explain this "authenticating" issue, anyway?

from what I can tell, when you leave Orions, you log out of Gamecenter, so when you resume the already opened process of Orions, you dont log back in to gamecenter and have to close out the app in the taskbar. I guess a line needs to be added to log back in to gamecenter once orions is resumed

    So it's (most likely) client-side, not server-side? Which means it's poor coding/QA?

    What a shock!

A lot of old cards (e.g., Forest Spirit) have been deactivated.

there is no real "server-side" .. i suppose they just use peer to peer connection..

i just flew over the game center documentation and bummer.. they even have functionality to see user activity for a game based on recent match requests..
, this could be put easily into an "user online" counter.. ahh i stop reading the docs, just makes me want to grab the source and fix stuff myself.. gnaa..

Forest spirit was annoying as hell, tho I think it would be kinda fun to play only the orions 1 cards in an online match

Forest Spirit + Bless was a pretty nasty combo in O1. Wasn't Bless 3 Light EL, in O!, though? It's 1 Light in O2, which would make the combo even more nasty in the current environment.

    About nerfing:

I agree with ya, Amn. In general, anyway. Nerfing early is a bad idea.

But Fairy and Manticore aren't new. They were overpowered in O1, too. I played so god damned many games of O1 that I could gauge my chances of winning a hard mode campaign by how quickly I could get:

    - paladin
    - fairy
    - manticore
    - forest spirit / bless combo
    - dryad spam

Heck, you get Drake, Paladin, Fairy and Manticore and that's pretty much GG. In duels, pretty much the same thing.

Anyway, in general, the game balance is looking pretty darn good in O2, so I'm not complaining. But Blood Ritual > Blood Ritual > Fire Elemental followed by Solitude or a string of Wall of Ice is pretty darn brutal. Especially if you follow up with Dispersers, Clones, Raise Dead or other things that shore up the initial blunt to board position.

Oh good lord, Dryad in O2 would change the face of the game in a major way in O2. Manticore is perfect as is in O2. I'm usure about Paladin in O2, it would definitely be used, but wouldn't be as awesome as it was in O1. Sea Justice would definitely be WAY overpowered in O2.

There're a lot of pretty OK combinations to kill Death cards as quickly as possible:

    - use a Life / Valor, which heals itself by 4 when attacks a Death
    - which is even more important: use the cheap Life / Pure Hear, which adds +10 do the damage done to any Death card

Completely agree. Although a nicely played card like guardian, moon cast, or astral cloud can although keep you up in the game. However, guardian and moon cast are not that easy to play properly, because these are so situational.

Also, soul of winds can pull down biggest creatures in an amazing way, and cronos is still a beast, but I'd rather use my air mana in other ways :)

Agree with all, although I would change a bit the paladin. Same cost, Hp, and Dmg, but capacity is way to powerful (imo). I mean, being able to kill two huge death creatures in two turns (meaning you had 8+2+1 = 11 life mana whenb summoning it), is quite eh... powerful :)

For 10 air, you can insta kill a creature, but it is designed to be the biggest one. Whether with Paladin, you can for 10 life insta kill the death creature you want (and god, those creatures are powerful), and still have left a 10/4 life creature.

Pop it in front of a swordman, kill a necromancer or a dark druid and say FU to you enemy :)

So I would change the capacity for a healing one, for example, 1 or 2 life which would heal owner for around 5 or 10, depending.

Haha, cast a dryad, then a giant spider : giant spider gets 18/10, and cannot be attacked by a creature if you spider web it. Bang. :p

    Water troll

    Dudes,

Just wondering how you get rid of an enemy water troll. This beast is really powerful agains your 5+ creatures, and heals self sufficiently to also easily kill 4- creatures.

Add an enchanter, an air shield and a little bless, and... oh no, don't think about it ! :D

Hate it if it's not on my side ;)
