As a new player can someone give me some tips as I dont have a clue what I am doing in this game. At the moment I am kind of just casting cards which I can afford then all of a sudden the computer makes a move and just wipes 3 of them off the board.
from the developer Okay people, I hear you - there are some bugs, there are always some when you have such a complicated game. I am keeping an eye on this thread to fix them. Enslave indeed requires 2 free slots, I don't know why I removed this from the description. Sorry about the grammar errors, I thought these were discovered by the testers, but if they are still there, I am ready to fix them. I will need a list or updated .inf files. Assuming they are errors, not misunderstanding the terms on your side. PS: I was recently totally devastated by the guy called N1K (I've seen him in this thread too). Lost like 9 games in a row - here I am, thinking I know how to play this game .
Totallyimba: spend time taking in and reading the cards. There's a reason why your opposition was able to do that. It's all written. That's all ive got to say. Now, can anyone explain this: I've briefly started the campaign mode and it plays similarly to orions1. I'm playing normal. However, what I'm experiencing is that I'm able to move and attack lands limitlessly before pressing next turn for the computer. In orions 1 you could only attack 1 land before surrendering for next turn...what gives?
the fact that if you cast cure wounds, while having an avatar on the field brings him to almost 500 life is a bug? or not? :-??
Op/up Re OP/UP, I've been using the abbreviations as Over PRICED and Under PRICED, rather than Over POWERED and Under POWERED, a holdover from my M:tG days. To avoid confusion, I'll spell it out in any future posts.
Thanks, Pavel. Great to know you're here! Re grammar/spelling errors, please blame me. I never even thought about going through the entire tutorial. My concern was pretty much all with the descriptive text on the cards, which I believe I fully corrected. I think I also went through some of the Campaign text but just never got around to touching the tutorial. Well, get ready for draft mode. I'm going to post a DRAFT time frame a bit later and anyone interested in Draft can set up accordingly. I've had more success than not but Draft will remove some of the luck element. I've had a couple of games where I knew I had no chance from the start but at least, tried to hang on as long as possible. Most satisfying game so far was vs. Synoveer (sp?). Was behind like 61-19 at one point and knew I had a chance to wipe the board with Acid Storm and begin again with Blade Master. I actually made two major errors in that game to get that far behind and probably didn't deserve to win. Overall, having an absolute blast, win or lose. Thank you so much, Pavel. I can't imagine ever removing this from my devices and the addition of multiplayer has indeed, moved this into the realm of SPECIAL. I hope you make a fortune and are compelled to do Orions 3.
BTW, Life/Hermit also seems to instantly kill everything of level 2-3 (or even higher?), regardless off their HP. This isn't mentioned in the description either.
Yeah, games that play exactly the same as Orions (no need for extensive offline "powering up" and the like) would be great to have And MP has indeed been a MUST - see why I've pushed it so hard in my mails?
Yes, with two players of the same skill and knowledge of cards, a draft with alternating first picks (see the algorithm at http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1743637&postcount=273 and http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1743650&postcount=275 ) is THE way to go. Too bad picking cards takes so much time; this is why I prefer simple duels too...
That's the way it played for me. Bear in mind anything that dies on your side is one card less in your deck and you don't want to take it down too far. The more cities you beat, the worse your deck will be unless you're getting awesome cards as a prize. I was not a hug fan of Campaign, so I'm no expert, but if I remember correctly, I would attack maybe two or three and then try to rebuild.
That was a good game. I remember being close to the kill but not having anything to finish you off. Once you reset the board, I had a sinking feeling I was going to lose that one.
The drafts are on! THE DRAFTS ARE ON! The problem here of course, is time differentials. I'm working with 4 major population centers to try and gauge the best way to approach this. Tokyo GMT+9 Moscow GMT+ 4 New York GMT-4 LA GMT-7 There is a 16 hour difference between Tokyo and LA! So, 8PM in Tokyo is 4AM in LA, so those two are not going to meet at that time. By the time it's 9AM in LA, it will be 1AM in Tokyo, also somewhat of a non-starter. Since there is such a widespread differential in time, a 24 hour timeframe is probably the minimum needed to provide ample opportunity to connect with others around the world. So, as an experiment, let's try the following. As of TOMORROW, Sunday, GMT1200 (Noon), Drafting begins for those who want to participate. If you do not, no problem. If you do, select Draft before attempting to connect through Game Center. For those in [---], Draft begins at [local time], Ends at [local time]: Tokyo - Sunday, 9PM - Monday, 9PM Moscow - Sunday, 4PM - Monday, 4PM New York - Sunday, 8AM - Monday, 8AM Los Angeles - Sunday, 5AM - Monday, 5AM If anyone wants to offer improvements/suggestions/refinements, just say the word. [EDIT: just realized of course that NY probably has the best timeframe. Next draft we'll do differently, ok? Each time, we'll favor a different city with the 8AM-8PM timeframe.]
Hi, great to hear from you. Regarding the grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors, I would be happy to help out if you like. Just let me know.
Regarding the draft days, if a single day doesn't match up we can do a draft weekend or draft sunday-monday if that helps. Also, we're passing every other element right? Hope I get to play against some TAers. @ developer: Anyway you can fix draft mode? give first pick in three random elements to one person and the three to another? Or simple alternating works.
Do you speak Russian? Avatar always was a bugged card Avatar + Moonlight gives a strange effect too. And it is not just summoned with health equal to player's, it sometimes corrects its HP according to player's (most likely when opponent attacks you directly). You right, it instantly kills creatures of level 2 and 3. ----- A new day a new bug It is in description of Blind spell: it states the enemy's creatures will lose 3 attack points, but actually it's only 2.
Looking to play alternating drafts today, if anyone wnats to send me an invite to play some good games
Yes, if you pick first for an element, please PASS first pick on the next. If someone forgets, it's not a big deal but let's try and do it fairly. At the time, I think Pavel was anxious to get the game completed and the additional work/code/time required may have been a burden (we waited long enough, right?). Let's hope the game's success makes the hoped for updates a reality.
