I remember someone plugging their app on here a couple months ago, and they said there was a sale going on for it. The app in question was one that showed how to do certain origami figures, and I believe there were video tutorials included with it. I can't remember what the app was, though.. does anyone know what app I'm talking about? And if you don't, do you know of any good origami-learning apps, preferably with picture or video tutorials? For some reason, terms like "Mountain fold" and standard things you find in origami books, I have a hard time picturing how to do, so that's why I like pictures and/or videos.
I have, but I thought it would be more convenient to ask people on here for their recommendations. That's all.
Ah, k. I've never really seen anyone discuss origami apps before..You might have to just start checking the iTunes ratings.
The main purpose of the topic was to see if anyone remembered what app I was talking about. I could be remembering wrong, too. So maybe I'm just dreaming or something
Found this: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=615950 Is that what you recall? Anything else I find is some variation - all are Cute Origami or Cute Origami Hallowmas.
I actually enjoyed Dollar Origami. Some people say it was hard for them and the instructions were difficult. I just wanted to make the collared shirt, and I did just fine, so I am happy. Now I leave them for my waitresses. All the app does is actually access a website with lots of things you make with a dollar. You scroll through step by step. It is very easy. Otherwise just search "origami" in itunes and read the reviews.
Our Balloon Animal 3D app has some 3D Dollar Origami instructions in it now. You can rotate and zoom in and out on the Dollar as it animates each fold, kind of like a dollar floating in your phone folding into shapes. Read about it and find links here: www.learn2make.com/blog We will be releasing an app solely for Dollar Origami in 3D sometime in the next few months. Hope this helps. The current Origami apps that I think are good are Origami Max and OrigamiStudio. They both have animated instructions instead of just diagrams. Just my two cents.
Our Dollar Origami 3D app is almost ready, we just posted about it here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=98044
Origami Resource Center sells origami iPhone applications! Now you can have easy origami instructions at your fingertips. Cute Origami from orientmaple.com is an iPhone app containing instructional origami videos. Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Intricate pieces of art are made with one square piece of paper, using only geometric folds and requiring no glue or scissors.
There are a couple of origami apps that went free today. One for an airplane and one for a pelican. They are not our apps, ours is still being finished up for submission hopefully tonight. I'd get those apps while they are free though-not sure how long they will stay free. I paid a dollar for my copies but that is ok ;-) The apps are: Origami Airplane Folds In 3D Origami Pelican Folds In 3D And you can still read about and try out our upcoming Dollar Origami 3D app here: Dollar Origami 3D screenshots and demo Here is one screenshot:
We just launched Dollar Origami 3D, if you are interested in Origami, check it out! $.99 for a limited time App Store link, or just search "learn2make" on the App Store.
