Loving this game so far, level 11 or so, made a battle monk but do some healing in groups. I asked this several pages ago but have yet to find an answer, are there any instances/dungeons in the game or end game content?
Don't think so. not yet. There are mobs that supposedly need a group to take down. I haven't had any problems with a mob at level 22.
This thread is proof that Gameloft needs an official forum. You can't really count on the community to make a forum and have it be widely accepted unless it's by someone like the Curse network. It doesn't make sense for TA to riddle their forum with specific game forums because it remains to be seen how long this game will stick around and be supported compared to the PC community. Maybe make an MMO forum for PL, Order and Chaos, and other games since they tend to garner a longer popularity?
To me this isn't really a major concern. Gameloft can easily develop ways of in-game mechanics so when someone does receive a call, for example the game could be paused - when the user is back, he simply ticks a box on hid screen and the rest of the raid do the same - finally the leader will tick his box and then a 10 second countdown timer will emerge. Sure, this isn't a perfect idea as some people may have low battery, but if they start raiding on low battery anyway, they're simply idiots.
Seriously getting sick of seeing this arguement. Already I have accumulated 9 gold and thats without auctioning anything off, just vendoring stuff. Yes dying sucks and I have lost a few gold that way, but a few dollars? Only if you were stupid enough to buy gold in the first place, in which case YOUR fault you lost money. The dealth penalty sucks, but the teleporter costs and scroll costs are QUITE reasonable. (still sucks having to port one town at a time I agree)
There is a vendor across from the AH that sells single use TP scrolls to major cities. Depending how far out you are going, it may be more cost effective to just purchase one of those scrolls.
Im trying to decide which class to choose and want to be something unique. Can the Monk be offensive?
The skill upgrades are at the far back of the recipe/formula/pattern lsiting. FWIW, it's 550 for leatherworking to go to intermediate.
Only 4 classes, two skill trees each, so you wont be unique whatever you chose. Although there is a large segement that says "learn to play your class," among folks that say one class is best, it seems to be monk and ranger. Not too sure what build monks are using to feel OP, probably a few skills from their healing tree like mind control which I have heard is excellent and the rest in military.
FYI, official Gameloft forums are here: http://onlinegames-forum.gameloft.com/index.php?c=5#36 sorry if this is spam, didn't see it mentioned else where (but didn't read all 160+ pgs in this thread).
There doesnt seem to be enough quests available in the whispering isles. Im up to level 32, but the last couple have had me wasting far too much time (and within a mmorpg to begin with, heh) wandering out trying to find a quest. There seemed to be no available quests for huge portions of the map. And I lost about 4 gold from deaths in the pvp zone as people just have to shoot me in the back right as I start fighting the normal enemies. Its not as bad when they kill me since pvp deaths dont lose money, but half the time an ai character gets the kill and htere goes 50 silver. Going to have to group up with people just to ward off pvp attacks..
Yeah, this is getting really stupid. Even WoM has separate PvP servers. I've yet to even have someone try to kill me that wasn't 5 levels above me. And I always die from the mob so I lose money, while the dbag sits back a few feet intermittently using spells.
Hey anyone know what triggers the quests on Glimmermoor? All the quest icons are currently white. I'm at level 22 and finished all the quests in Boarhill and Necro's Academy. Thanks.
Easy: BC is based up total raw materials used; not sure about the intermediate stuff, but for the basic stuff it's one raw material = one BC, so the most efficient way is to go with the least dropped materials and most purchased materials, i.e. the very first item you can make. It's a couple of silver for 20 of the purchased stuff, which you should have in abundance even from just vendoring the stuff you craft versus your time hunting/mining the other materials. For example, for my leather crafter, there's a basic gloves item I can craft, 8 poor fur, 2 normal yarn, and I get 10 BC. Since the bottleneck is the poor fur, it's the best choice for accumulating BC, at least until I ding intermediate.
The disturbing part is that they didn't start with servers segregated to begin with - other than that, I'd call it perfectly expected. Any time PKing is allowed without the consent of both players there are people who do nothing but make it their focus to ruin other people's experience. Also, any time PKing is allowed without the consent of both players, a large percentage of the player base is driven away in short order since a large percentage of the player base is not interested in such game "play" at all. Really surprised GL did this considering the general finesse of the rest of the game. They'll either wind up having to split servers or they're going to be losing subscribers left and right if that sort of area is normal in the upper level areas.
There were only a few people in the area at a time for me since I was playing at odd hours and not too many people are in the 30s yet. It will be interesting to see how it goes when its packed with people, could be much worse. You also have people who use area or spread shot attacks who inadvertently hit a player, which they retaliate for so you get fights when noones even trying to.. I think being in a group will make it all fine though, easy to gang up anyone who messes with you and mostly just because it will take less time to complete the quests. Killing 30 enemies who are all 4 levels higher than me takes some time. And yeah, obviously thats standard pvp mmo. But as far as I know a pretty good % of people choose the pve servers on MMOs so the option here would have been nice. With challenges and an arena mode.
Some dbag actually graveyard camped me. There is no immunity time after respawn so...yeah, broken system. Doesnt seem to be a huge deal at the moment, I'm more annoyed by the absence of quests and the quests where the guy spawns every 5 minutes and there are 20 people waiting.
That's when you call in the guild mates! That sucks big time though. I hope GL addresses these issues soon.
