There are really a lot of gold sinks in the game...if your careless, dying costs a LOT of money, at least at level 10. Travel seems to cost more than WOW too, although I could be wrong about that. Spell costs seem to be similar (or less) so a little break there at least. Havent yet seen any mobs that drop food or potions, so that could be another gold sink -- prices seem pretty high, and unlike WOW I havent seen a way to get food yourself (except as quest rewards). Farming grenadine, etc., for crafters is probably going to be good money. Grenadine is easy but not super easy to farm, and its a hassle to use the auction house just for a couple. Someone said they made money selling the noob gloves and boot patterns, but I dont see that happening now that waves of folks are crafting. I'll probably farm up 3 or 4 stacks tonight and hopefully that will be good for 2 gold or so and I wont be poor anymore
i got to lv 15 at about 1 am last night. i played all day tho. heard rumors of ppl getting to 28.. havent started playing today yet.
Have you tried on different wifi networks? My best guess would be a network security issue. Are you jailbroken, and do you have any apps that affect your wifi? Have you emailed gameloft support?
The only thing I hope in this game, is that Gameloft really does try to update it with bug fixes and patches. I'm not asking for new content or anything just yet, I am sure they will expand when they are ready. But for now, there are some things that need to be fixed. And some balancing and tweaking of all sorts of things. I really hope they can keep up with it. I know they have a track record of not doing so so well, but I hope with this type of game, an MMORPG, they will do so.
I've got a Feral and Hybrid Drood, so I'll be doing the Military Monk as well. I think I may dabble in a hybrid spec for grinding so I can save cash on buying pots for now.
Thisis probably a bit stupid, but im not sure whether to buy it as nothing like this has been done before on this platform.. i don't want to spend cash and a lot of my time levelling up if they are going to pull the plug on the servers after the first year.. i dunno maybe i just worry too much! A game like this if i put 100 hours into i want to make sure the game will still be about for a long time!
Kept trying to listen to the shoulder angel telling me to wait a month and see what early adopters were saying, what sort of updates GL had made, etc., but based on the fact that it appears to be downloading in iTunes and money was just taken out of my bank account, looks like that sneaky shoulder devil won again This will be the first GL game I've paid full price for and you'd think given that I've always said, "whew, glad that was only $1" for all the previous games of theirs I got I'd have more sense. I remember playing WoW right at launch and all the nutty chaos and just couldn't resist the call to see another MMO launch, particularly for less than $7 - hoping I'm not disappointed. I guess as long as it's at least as good as some of the free Korean PC MMOs I've tried it will have been worth the entry fee.
Playing as a mage, and the casting is pretty slow... at least the waiting time that it's ready.. Now I wish I was a fighter.

This looks like an amazing game! It's about time a real MMORPG is on the ios platform! I'm going to be looking for TouchArcade Guilds and I have a question! What about transferring characters over to a new device? I am planning to get an iPad 2 as well, so if I sign into Gameloft will all my characters be there waiting or do I have to create characters all over again starting at level 1? Help! Thanks!
Yes. Your character data is stored online so you can access them from any device by logging into your account.

Looks like O&C is up to number 14 on the iPad chart on iTunes. Not sure where it is for iPhone but that is pretty cool! I think GL may not know what hit them with this game. Hopefully they are up to the challenge and can keep the game fresh for us! -Greg
