Scroll down to see all the options you have in talking with him. If I recall correctly, the second to last choice will complete the quest. Anyways, if you keep talking to him eventually you will stumble upon the right choice. Getting up there was a total pain because the stairs are buggy and I had to fight casters that were unhittable. That is, they could hit me, but I couldn't hit them. I died many times in that place.
That reminds me of when I threw away my first trinket because I ran out of bag space and I thought it was a useless wolf tooth or something. Sigh...
Just found the first cheater I have seen so far. He is on the Arcadian Forest server and his name is Slevin. He has a question mark if you click on him to check his level, but he kills me in two hits and I am level 29. He also has weapons and armor I have never seen before. He gets his kicks just chasing guys around and massacring them over and over and over in the PVP areas.
That made me lol. Just like the WoW South park episode. Are you for real ? P.N : ?? = too high level for you = LVL 60 = you die very fast if he attacks
Oh, okay. Then it was just messed up. He was following me around between the cemetery and my quest and killing me repeatedly. Pretty annoying...
It's certainly unfair though. Gankers will be gankers. Anyways, write their name down for later. When you reach max level, find them and defeat them in-game. Gankers usually gank because they're terrible players and can't take on someone their own size. That or they're jerks.
Eh... it is unfair really.. isn't it? Not like you didn't find this in other mmos tho. No reason to start complaining about it now. Eh, I've never entered the pvp area yet, but is it a large strip of land? (my original guess) or is it just a small zone? If it's a small zone than I really do feel sorry for him. In future weeks, I'd expect a lot more people to just be in the pvp zone killing lower levels for "fun". Can't wait for battlegrounds, that's where I spent a lot of my time in WoW. Love the competitive feeling and being somewhat fairly matched (10 level difference at most which is somewhat big...) made it better.
Eh, I'm not entirely sure. Theoretically, you could just do the same repeatable quests until 60, unless there's an experience cutoff if you get too high leveled.
No. This particular area is an area where I had to do a quest. So I could not have completed the quest without being in the PVP zone. Not that I completed it anyway with Slevin running around killing me every chance he got. Oh well, I will just play later and finish the quest.
Do you lose money when killed by an enemy in pvp? If so, I can defiantly see how this would frustrate spartan. I lose about 30s per death at lv 22 which sucks.
Okay, I just respecced again and had to buy another set of skill books so I am 100% sure you skills get reset. (For mages at least.) I think you're getting it mixed up with the skills you start with. It doesn't reset the ranks of the 2-3 spells you start with, but it does reset the ranks of everything on your skill tree. e.g. I'm a mage so it didn't reset my fireball, frost bolt and energy shield, but it reset the ranks of everything else.
I was experimenting with builds and respecced a few times this week. I did have to rebuy books from skills in the talent trees, just as you said.
Actually it appears that if someone kills you with a DOT effect (not sure if just some or all), it does result in a death penalty, but that's probably a bug. Also there are people who target other players fighting a mob, and take them down to low health then stop, seemingly in an attempt to let the mob get the kill so the person has to pay. Haven't seen that on the Islands yet, but noticed it happening in the swamp.
