What?..Gameloft's other games all have the excellent multiplayer. They have better servers than any other company/game on the iOS. Lol though, this has to be the most discussion for an upcoming game there has been in a long while. I'm pretty excited too. Can never resist online play.
Oh I can't agree more and "excellent" multiplayer is an accurate description. There's lots of it on iOs and Gameloft is setting the example no doubt... but, O&C is going to make online multiplayer reach the level of Awesome!
I don't know if this has been discussed already, but does anyone know or have any hunches about the form of communication in this game? The most recent Gameloft trailer shows that there are these little bubbles above player's heads with "..." in them, suggesting (at least to me) that you would have to click on that to be able to chat individually to that person. Personally, I loved how PL executed their communication system and would like to see something like that on this game. Also, it seems like many people are against the freemium model. I'm curious why this is the case. It only makes sense that you support the development to receive constant consistent game support in return.
Personally, I think gameloft's multiplayer has already reached "Awesome". but I do agree it most likely will be revolutionary, but instead in of multiplayer, I believe it will change the way devs think of MMOs. No longer will you need a PC high end console to have a truly huge online-persistent world.
People want to support it, but as a monthly fee. Most of us anyways. And the big reason for the monthly fee as opposed to freemium is because people like to get the hard gear to show off how good they are and their level of commitment to the game. And so it really ticks those people off when they spent weeks or months to earn something and someone else just bought their way or bought the item, and didn't spend all the hard work they did(I have an issue saying hard work cause it's a game, but youget what I mean ).
the only downfall really is that a chunk of the in-app purchase $ goes to apple, so that just means gameloft will have to raise that monthly fee. An alternative is to make it so its purchased from a website, outside the the app, but that would be inconvenient and sadly I doubt gameloft would do it. I totally agree though... items shops are a gamer's worst nightmare. People running around with the best of the best gear because they spent real money on them is just stupid (and unbalanced). Another option is to just constantly release expansions with new content and levels, but that still doesn't get around "apple's cut" issue
That's why I'm thinking the initial release will be $6.99 in line with all their other new releases, then additional fees for expansions/new content a la Pocket Legends. That way, (Player A) if so inclined, can progress to the new areas, while (Player B), who doesn't want to pay anymore, will be stuck only leveling or staying in existing areas. Perhaps in the initial release you can only get to level 40, but purchasing an expansion/additional content for a $3.99 fee, will unlock the areas to grind out level 41-60. The result is, if (Player B) gets bored of the game pre-level 40, they can bail to go play something else, while (Player A) will gladly pay the additional fees to access the new areas/higher levels. This gets rid of the monthly fee and the in-game item shop scenario. Hope that made sense.
i did read it all, and i wasn't trying to take it out of context and how can it be hypothetical and sarcastic at the same time im not criticizing you, never was, just showing you that your "hypothesis" wasn't correct thats all
Are you for real? Seriously? You blatantly cropped part of my response to justify a point you were trying to make, which only you took out of context. I made a sarcastic post based on an actual photo obtained from the Gameloft website itself. The link is right here. Then I clearly said, "JUST KIDDING". Then I offered a hypothetical situation following for a good laugh. Seriously, how and why are you trying to find flaw in my original post? What are you attempting to do here? Pick a fight? I'm not wrong because I never said or claimed to say anything factual in my OP. I think you need to relax, learn to enjoy some good poking fun at the topic and not take things so out of context. It's good fun and that's all it is.
i'm not trying to pick a fight, we're both making a big deal out of nothing i had originally said and you agreed with me then you said that agreed? okay then, quoting your post, i said it was in no way aimed at your mistake with the ipad/ipad 2 then i misremembered (not sure if thats a word...) your first post, and said that you had said that, my mistake, and basically we both got mad over my little remark that wasn't aimed at you my bad no hard feelings?
Creepshow, I've always wondered, how or why do you type like that where your words only fill up half the row before starting another line?
Hopefully with all the attention this threads been getting, this game will become a priority of Gameloft.
That's easy. I've been using the "SARTOF" method for many years: (S)uper (A)nal (R)etentive (T)yping (O)n (F)orums Honestly, I feel it makes things easier to read and makes them appear like something shorter or more readable to the viewer. Yes, I totally made that up.
Does anyone have any theories on how potions will be implemented? I don't see any indications of them in the Gameloft trailers.
Ok after re-analyzing the video I realized there's no attack button! There's spell buttons on the side but... no actual simple melee attack button! So I'm guessing it's click on the monster to attack and then just sit back? Please somebody tell me different (cause that would suck)!!!
