    Online?

The Online Wizard screen says, "Go online and challenge the orbital playing world or your Facebook friends." Can someone tell me how to do the first of those options, as I'm not on Facebook and I want to try the vs. mode. It seems like it would offer an opportunity for different placement strategies.

    Thanks.

    @puffo83

Can you comment on the relationship between Wouter Visser, the designer of Gimme Friction Baby, and your company, if there is one?

This game is like digital crack.

I find the graphics almost hypnotic and find myself playing this all the time.

    High Scores ?

Just bought it, got 10 on my first game, not bad :)

I noticed that only the top 5 high scores are shown............It would be nice to show the top 50 or 100 !!! always fun to scroll down the high scores, maybe you can and I missed it.

Great game !!! I love simple addictive games with nice graphics !

Just got 39 on my second game !! one of the best I have played out of my 200+ apps

still...maybe show a bit more than the top 5 ...............

One last thing. I LOVE the scoring system. Please do not change it, old school style. Who need scores to be in the millions? Now getting 100 is a great score, simple and easy to tell when you are doing well. why do most games score in the millions ? hard to tell what's going on sometimes.

i second that. the scoring system is clear, and humbling. i put up a giant score of 3 on my first game and just shook my head. thankfully after the past hour or so i've gotten it above 20. well, in gravity mode that is. i'm really into pure mode here lately. something just keeps calling me back to it. it's brutal but challenging. how can you get a score of 4 over and over without trying again? i laughed out loud when i got a score of 11 on pure. awesome game, well made.

Loving the game, but this is a seriously tough game.
Highest score so far 29 in Gravity and 6 in Pure mode.. yeah I know, no great! :)

Forgot to check who in the forum suggested it, but a game mode where I could control where I fired would be awesome. A virtual left and right D-Pad at the bottom of the screen to rotate the turret movement and tap to fire as normal.

Ok, going to go and practice some more...

a mode like that would have to be accompanied by a couple of other changes and called kid mode, it would make it too easy. i like the theme going on here. awesome graphics, tough tough game, and realistic low scores.

im not saying anythings wrong with a really easy mode, then my son could finally play it. good idea, but ill stick to the two available.

BTW, has anyone gotten really high combos? i'm curious about the sayings. I just got a 6 hit combo in gravity mode and the robot said "wow wow eeee!!" awesomeness...

Not had higher than 6, good going!

I agree about the scoring, there's something cool about thinking 50 is a great score :D

Hi, the multi-player function is a local versus mode. An online multi-player function is not available. Would be a great enhancement...

We tried and are still trying to get in contact with Wouter. Google, Facebook, LinkedIn didn't deliver any useful contact information until now. His name is apparently a very common one in the Netherlands. If someone has a link to him please forward it to us. We would love to get in touch.

While I'd never ask for the scoring to switch over to some stupid 100's or 1,000's based crap, I would love to see some sort of progressive scoring that REWARDS big combos with more than a fun quote. Both Xpandaballs and Gravulous do stuff like make clearing 2 guys in one move worth 3, or clearing 3 in a single move worth 6.

i agree with this. in this game it's rare to get a 5 or higher combo. having double points for such things would make sense and feel like an achievement.

I disagree with this. I had a 5 orb combo and got a "woo woo woo hoo" from the game. That was satisfaction enough. I think that part of the charm of this game - and especially pure mode - is that you get 1 point per orb exploded. That's it. No more, no less, no multi combo bonus - just 1 point at a time. I like that a lot.

I gave in and bought this game and I have to say, it's well worth my $2.99! The game has great graphics, brilliant sounds and music, and more importantly it is really addictive. The particle effects also look great and the little things like the menus flying off into space make this game perfect.

I really like the simple scoring and I definitely agree that they are part of the charm of Orbital. I really hate it when games have #1 highscores of 2 billion so this has a great method of scoring, that said my current highscores are pretty bad:

    Gravity: 17
    Pure: 11

    I'm improving though! :D

    Wow. Orbital = love.
I've only played a few minutes on Pure mode, but this has a huge "one more play" feel to it. Up to 10 so far, but know I can do a lot better.

Between this and Galcon (yeah, I'm WLTTP) it's been a superb week. I have a bad thumb on my right hand too, so I haven't been able to do any gaming at all, and these have been a lifesaver.

Gravity mode can really minimize your mistakes. I got 44 on my first try.
