Yeah, i'm back to #3 in Grav. This game is the most addicting ever. I wish it didn't eat battery life like i eat oreos in milk - it's bad. The phone does get hotter than ever but I'm too addicted to care! Muah ha ha ha...
I tasted it and felt it coming. 142 is the new Gravity #1 and even beat the bogus 137. There were def a few hairy moments and at around 100 I made an impossible shot and I thought i was surely dead. Maybe now I can get some work done...for now.
Puffo, i think it would be incredible if there were a zoomed in slow motion showing the final losing shot at the end of the game. Showing exactly where the orb hit and it's painful route and descent to the death line in all it's particle goodness (tho in this case it's badness).
I like the zoom in idea. Sometimes it happens so fast, you can hardly tell what happened. This would be sort of the antithesis of the end of a peggle round. Nabbed a 54 in gravity last night. My approach to the game is shifting away from lots of small orbs to deliberately making larger ones.
Just got my best in Pure, 36, but now only good enough for global number 8 (number 7 if we discount the false top score). Someone's up to 60 now which is a great (but believable score). Felt sure I was going to get over 40 but let down by a bad shot and an unfortunate ricochet
i really like the zoom idea, reminds me of mindgame where god shows the guy his death over and over from different angles. and yeah, i've been doing this too with the larger orbs on gravity mode. another thing that's changed about how i play is i try to always hit an existing orb with my shot so the new one bounces to my advantage instead of just filling the board up with orbs in hopes of later. it keeps all the numbers on screen low enough that things don't get out of hand. i know it's hard to describe, but i'd like to hear some of the better players' strategies or plans as they play, in either mode.
I'm waiting for one on this one, mostly because I already have XpandaBalls and Gravulous and didn't like them thattt much.
Still playing this daily, and I have a couple of gameplay variation ideas. I'd like to see a "Precision" mode where you get to touch the screen to aim your shot (this might work best in conjunction with gravity, but I'd like to try it without too). I also think a "Galaxy" mode would be cool where the orbs represent different types of galactic phenomena. Most shots would represent stars or planets and work just as they do now in gravity mode, but there could be the occasional special (either randomly or perhaps user-activated). Here are some ideas for the special types: Gas Giant: grows in size as normal but has tiny mass regardless of size Neutron Star: Stays small regardless of placement, but has large mass Black Hole: grows as normal, then sucks in any orbs within modest range Nebula: As normal, but requires fewer hits to destroy ???: As normal, but requires more hits to destroy
Some great ideas there. Have you tried "Gravulous?" It's just like Orbital except with beautiful planets. It's not as good as Orbital in terms of variation and features, but I like the look of the planets!
As Camzy said, this getting closer to the concept of Gravulous, but, ironically considering the name, they never dealt with the gravity aspects (a lot closer to Orbital's Pure Mode but with pretty planetary graphics). I really like your ideas here, especially of rare dudes that change up the rules (little guy with big gravity and visa versa).
Just to be clear, I envision these as new modes. I like the existing modes just as they are. I haven't played Gravulous, but I can't stop playing Orbital. I can happily play it for a minute or an hour, and I've probably played it every single day I've touched my phone since I got it. Countless other apps are languishing in a pile because of it.
