I'm trying to put something together to showcase some of the work I've done. Not that I'm looking to leave my company, but in this day and age you don't get much notice when you are being laid off and I think it's better to be prepared. Anyway, I started this yesterday. http://www.tildastudios.net/ I still need to get some more projects on there. The two projects at the bottom I can't get until I go into work Monday. I'm also going to be updating my resume and posting it on there for easy download. Anyway, thoughts/opinions? I'll also be using the site for support with my iPhone apps.
The website looks very clean and runs smooth. A great way to show case your portfolio is to do it in a very nice, clean, business like manner, which you did well. Good Job.
It's ok...currently it looks too template-y and feels like it needs a unique design to reflect you. Create a logo and distinctive colour scheme. Make more use of space, and make the different sections more eyecatching. Also, it's just me but I think you should separate the about you stuff, and maybe give less info. E.g. currently I am a programmer at a globally-recognised aeronautics company. Stuff like C# could be under a list of qualifications and skills you have. Your portfolio of games and website could have bigger images and be incorporated into the demo page, more in your face? Stuff like your SpeedR development breakdown is interesting but could be illustrated by images (rough sketches, test versions etc) and more varied fonts. Or you could use cooler text in images, e.g. a blackboard with text points you want to make, post-its, a car driving past a billboard with text on etc. Site example would be cooler with big screengrab, or photoshop on monitor image. Games images examples would look cooler with pics of the game on an actual iDevice. Just some initial thoughts.
