I would be more optimistic if every update (even if a minor one) didn't break many games. To be honest, that's the main reason why I don't feel comfortable spending much more on App Store. Since Apple seem so narrow-minded on gaming, I'd love to see another major player come and bring mobile gaming to the next level. I still think some day our phones and tablets (or even another device) are going to be our gaming device of choice and we are going bring them everywhere and plug easily on a tv to start playing. One can only wonder and hope. I love mobile, it is a shame that we have so many compatibility issues with OS breaking older games.
Somehow Brightridge slipped off my radar, looks incredible, purchasing as soon as I get to my office!
Nobody going to suggest Radiation Island? I've never played it, but it was the first open world game that came to mind.
Radiation Island is definitely worth the price. One thing I like a LOT about it, is that it gives you the option of playing it as a survival game, or as an exploration/crafting game, where you don't have to worry about food, death, etc... You can play at whatever pace you like with that mode. I do wish it had the option to pla in 3rd person though, as I have a LOT of trouble orienting myself in relation t to my surroundings/location in 1st person games, and always have.
Thanks MeanTuna Every bit of support helps, and if i can generate enough interest in the game, i have a few more open world environments i'd like to release. I hope you enjoy it, and if you do a review or rating will help me get the word out
I downloaded free version and it crashes when it's loading the world. I am running it on an iPod 5. I was just wondering if that would be the same problem in the HD version. Also, what's the difference. I assume the graphics are better in the HD version
It a rotation problem. Stick to the original device orientation, then, after loading, you can change it. I was having the same problem.
Brightridge HD runs on Metal, and has way better graphics, much more bells & whistles. Also, Protopop recently added a storyquest, and I don't know if he backported any of the massive terrain feature additions and changes from the HD to the free version. The crash could be the Unity orientation bug. Try holding the iPod so that the home button is at your right hand, and it should start just fine, if that's the reason. UPDATE: Ah, Dankrio beat me to it Oh, and so we don't hijack this thread, can I suggest to move over to the Brightridge one (it's in my sig) if you need more help with that issue?
The oddworld games have a linear open world. Once you progress in the story it pushes you further along in the world, and unlocks new open world areas! Oddworld strangers wrath is fantastic
Is this game still suffering from that bug that was wiping out people's data? Just got my 7 Plus and really want to play this game on it.
