Just want to say that this game is great! I bought the power doubler. I'm currently in the level 41 to 50 section if the game. I recommend people try this game out, the first batch of levels were easy and ease you into the game, but it does ramp up
A couple of times already. Now working on getting a better score finding the right strategies of how to kill those different enemies
A speedrun is even possible with great use of push, throw, spin, hack, etc. In fact most bosses can be forcefully pushed off the edge.
I got up to ~50 or 60 last night and I'm not half way evened up. Awesome game! Kinda reminds me of a slower paced Samurai Dojo
So Apparently Only One is the #1 Arcade Game in South Korea, #5 in games and 18th Overall on the App store for Free Apps. http://www.appannie.com/apps/ios/app/681646403/app-ranking/#device=iphone&daily=2014-02-12&type=ranks Half my downloads are now from South Korea, I didn't even translate it to any language, really really weird. Guess I have to make a Kim Jung Un mini-boss?
In 22 hours I will be take down Only One from the South Korean App store. I cannot take this anymore.
The guy actually had good reasons to want to pull it from the sounds of it. I personally can't believe that stupid game got as popular as it did. People all over the world seem to have all hit thier heads at exactly the same moment and decided to download the most retarded game they could find. Ah well. As for this game, I can't put it down. I love the music, the fighting. It all! I had to try listening to that papa roach song in the background whilst playing and I had a boner the entire time! God what an awesome game! The only thing I hate and I despise it so much I wanna scream is that..... I never came up with it . Brilliant my friend brilliant.
Truth is Flappy Bird is a good game, it's simplicity and mechanics are just right, I see my friends playing it and loving it. But it does upset me that it gets so much attention, even more so with all that guys drama about taking it down, and now with all the clones, it drowns out other games. Anyways I'm going to be making a sudden death mode, basically survive as long as you can against the clock, Ultimate Power unlocks it fully, otherwise it ends after 1 minute or something. And if there's time get to the endless mode. Will be putting in more bug fixes and will raise the cost of some abilities, as well as possibly making Attack/Movement upgrades Ultimate Power only, as I think I've been almost been giving the currency away that there is no incentive for buying anything. This is all becoming a big learning experience for me
Those brutal arrows... Love this game...I'm not one for making it any easier, but I hate the way the arrows can travel through enemies -- although enemies can block other enemies. I can't tell you how many times I've died by arrows when trying to avoid a huge pack a baddies. Sob. There is no justice.
Congrats to the front site review. A few more downloads. Man, I would love to see this game featured in the stores. And boy, not long until one of those Koreans will push me from the throne... aaaaah.
Not cool... It's having a free game and later taking away the free stuff... I really don't like that idea. And it's literally changing into the "have to pay to win" thing that people hate. You want high scores? You gotta buy these upgrades for better chances, can't get the upgrades otherwise... That is not good. That is not good at all. Do not do it.
Yes, I'll think it over, I may just end up increasing the cost of abilities and leaving it at that. The attack/movement upgrades are not entirely necessary to win the game either, it's still possible with skill. The game could also go for a $.99 and then I reduce the doubler by a dollar. Many ways to change things. I'll be thinking about other things to do, but feel free to msg me with suggestions. Anyways just want to thank TouchArcade for the awesome review and South Korea for making me #5 in games over there. Now back to work!
I think, that would be a great idea. You need to earn some money with this game. The fresh release steam might already vanish. And this is a fully fledged app, you should charge some money with it. Make it at least $.99 and maybe charge another $.99 for the doubler. But this way, each download brings you some money. Another maybe great option would be: The first 20 levels are free, then you have to pay $.99 to unlock the rest of the game. Like a lite version. Most of the people would do it by then... tease them
Sure, but upgrades make things easier, which means it's easier to survive and get higher scores, so requiring payment for upgrades means only people who "pay to win" get better chances at higher scores, which is not fair at all. Paying people getting money for upgrades quicker would be okay enough, but paying people getting an otherwise unobtainable advantage is not fair. So, like I said, don't do that. That's fine. That would be fine too. I'd say the game is worth a dollar.
