If you think the vocal anti-free to play minority is buttering our bread you know nothing about the business of running a web site.

Listen, I'm done dealing with this. You now have your very own off topic discussion thread. Do not post in the main thread if you are unable to keep it on topic. I've even restored the previously deleted posts for you so you can see how painfully off topic and inflammatory they are.

Not going to happen. Apple wouldn't allow it.

For many of us, this has nothing to do with F2P. I have enjoyed some greatly (FFRK for instance). Massively altering a great game to force people to purchase $99 bags of gold is the issue here. It deserves attention.

You know what I do in situations like this? Say, "Oh, hey, this game isn't that fun and has a dumb pay model. Good thing I have quite literally hundreds of other games on my phone and dozens of new games that came out this week alone that I can play instead."

Wut has this tread come to?! This was SUPPOSED to be a discussion thread about the game itself rather than a rant about F2P!! Listen, a lot of people will go for F2P games because well... It's free. Some people don't like to pay for mobile games so any ranting or spreading stuff about buying more premium games might just not work... Some people are not willing to put the money there. As long as any game is free, it will have more downloads as compared to premium games. Some people will even pirate a game just to get it free. It's the truth and it's real.

I agree, but the squeaky wheel gets the oil and wheels don't come any squeakier than this. By voicing our displeasure we can hopefully dissuade future ports from going down the same path. Not sure why this bothers you. OFDP is a awesome game on PC and could have been the same on iOS. It took some effort to turn such a great game into a steaming pile. Hopefully lessons will be learned.

My anger is related to the fact that the developers intentionally gimped this port to make it F2P. I'm fine with freemium when done properly. I'm not fine with the overthetop monetization scheme employeed in this game.
Also people wanting to pirate this game have already done it with the original PC version.

Anyone else notice that they don't even tell you the cost of IAP in game. You literally have to purchase it to find out (Apple shows you price when you are asked to confirm purchase).

    Nevermind, I don't care enough.

This site just got a lot more disappointing.

For the record, you were responding to one of the two dudes that run and frontline this entire site. Not a mod.

Which (since you read it), makes the whole thing all the more disappointing. The higher up you are, the better example you should be setting.

But it's fine. I have nothing productive left to say here.

You are seeing one isolated incident. I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong, but think of it from the other perspectives - this site and the forums are intended to be a discussion for the games people enjoy (or not enjoy, as the case may be).

On the one hand, there is a large readership that never posts. They check the forums only briefly (and sometimes for the first time), reading maybe one or two pages of any given thread. What do you think a person like this is going to think when the first page is filled with two-word "looks great" posts? What about when the first two pages are discussing how iAP is evil? Especially when the conversation isn't even tied into the game any more. How does that look to someone who perhaps doesn't mind freemium games, who plays occasionally and is glad to get something for nothing? They stop reading. I know I do.

Next to that, you have the long-time readers of the site. Ones who are well-versed in iOS. They know what they like, whether it's mechanics, IPs, whatever. They check the thread, read the first few comments discussing iAP and they already know if they are willing to put up with the payment model. Then they see the discussion devolving into "iAPs are evil" and stop reading.

Who does that leave? Only two kinds of people end up posting in the thread - those that are invested in the perpetual regurgitation of the same "bad iAP is junk" idea and those that completely ignore it to post a question or a comment. The ones that are brave enough to put a positive opinion out into the constant stream of (often aggressive) bile.

Finally there are the moderators and admins who have to deal with it all. Mind you, we simply have more information - I'm specifically referring to the reports. It is a judgement call, yes, but we are all long-term members of this community. What you may think is a novel argument we have seen said and rehashed dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of times. We get it, people don't like iAP. We don't either. But we generally have an eye for when the discussion is about to turn sour and fall into the closed loop it almost always does. Even this discussion of "moderators are evil Nazi bastards eating babies' souls and using Orwell's 1984 as an instructions manual" has been done before, sometimes for the same reason. All I'm saying is - we prune conversations that we consider inappropriate

I can't speak for the admins of the site, but at the end of the day any business has to bow to the lowest common denominator, the public majority, and the moderators have to understand and respect that. To bring it back to the example at hand - the thread before the move was reported multiple times. Both by regular members and by a few that rarely post, despite being long-time readers. If that doesn't tell you something, then I'm sorry to say this entire post was a waste of time.

I'm not trying to change your mind - you are welcome to be upset at the game, the publisher and the way this site may be run, but I am asking you to step back and consider the other sides' points of view.

    What about drm?
    I am not complaining,
It's punishing the player, by forcing him to stay online.
Devs says that they are the victim here, but what they don't know is people are less likely to invest in a single player game that require Internet connection.
    Think about it.
7 hours in blood masquerade, and it's gone because the dev took the server down.

Question to the moderator- if you give the right to user to create their own thread, and they are complaining about a game. Why is it a problem?
Those that love the game can just ignore it.

That's why this thread now exists. Threads like this in the general discussion forum can talk about whatever they like (within reason), but we have to be more responsible in the main game threads.

I appreciate the respect given to us members who bumped your hits before IAPS were even a possibility on iOS.
