I don't know if you guys have heard about On-Live or not, but basically it's a gaming service that lets you play on any computer as long as you reach the following requirements:

Internet Connection: 5 Mbps (wired connection required) OnLive currently doesn‘t support Wi-Fi connections. A wired Internet connection is required to access the OnLive Game Service.
    Operating System:Windows® 7 or Vista (32 or 64-bit) or XP (32-bit)Mac OS X 10.6 or later
    Processor:Dual-core CPUScreen Resolution:1280x720

Anyway, they're having a Founding Members raffle right now where you sign up, and if you get chosen, you get free On-Live service for a year (you still have to pay for the games however).

You can download free game demos, see other people playing their games in real time, and basically just enjoy the near-release version of the service. If you want to buy a game, they're normally cheaper than the XBOX 360, PS3 or PC counter-parts.

I just got accepted into the "beta" though, so if you're in it too, tell me what you think (I gotta wait for my new credit card to come in the mail tomorrow or Friday in order to validate it :/).

I've been using OnLive for a while on my iMac, it's pretty cool. Intermittent connection issues keep me from really ever wanting to buy a full game on there, but as a tech demo, playing the little 30 minute freebie games is pretty awesome.

Well I'm gonna be running On-Live on my brand new Asus which has the power to play good games, just not the graphics chip, so I plan on being able to run it smoothly.

Also, Verizon FiOs rocks! 25 mbps :)

I've currently got a really solid cable connection and actually experimented a lot with network diagnostics while playing OnLive games just because I was curious as to what was causing the intermittent lag... OnLive REALLY depends on not just your local internet connection, but also obviously your entire route to their datacenter. I've never seen any other network service that is so sensitive, it is interesting watching the correlation between framerate and your ping to the various hops between you and OnLive. If you have a congested gateway like I do in NYC, all the fios in the world isn't going to solve that.

I'm really not sure how OnLive will ever get over that hurdle either.

Well I'm in Tampa, so we'll see. Obviously not as big as NYC, but still pretty big compared to... something.

Wait... didn't you live in Chicago a little while ago? Did you just move?

Back on topic... I am in the beta but I haven't gotten around to trying it since it is such a pain to get a wired connection in my house. Wifi would be a greta addition.
