Loving the game I'm on the second ship level on hard, fully levelled up. Biggest combo 102 and 91 dead in survival. I'm not the greatest gamer but below are my boss tips:

    Pirate
Attack one - Kick can be parried, look for him to move his fist first.
Attack two - flame thrower cannot be parried. When he laughs jump around once he starts spraying flame he doesn't move so get round the back of him and spam your best combo. If you get caught in this in can be three hits so watch out!
Attack three - he launches in the air and lands causing damage - haven't tried parrying! Move around and attack him when he lands, watch out for his tell for attack one and get ready to parry and counter it.

    Barman.
Attack one - Tankard punch there is a small tell and then this fast attack, be careful if you parry to early you will miss it. You can play safe with a few hits then jumping away.
Attack two - cleaver throw - cannot be parried jump out the way
Attack three - angry rum drinking charge! Cannot be parried - you cannot touch the barman during this time as you will take damage (the clue to this is his face goes red). He basically follows you around before stopping and jumping up and down on the spot. Don't get to far away after his third one there seems to be a cool down period spam best combo watching out for attacks one and two.

Mecha Pirate (cannot be touched without taking damage)
Attack one - the front panel opens and a line of bombs spray out. Attack watching for the bomb nearest you to flash, when it does jump away.
Attack two - hook shot - not sure of the tell on this one (maybe someone else can help) cus I'm always on the other side of the screen fighting normal enemies, it seems to happen mostly at those times it can hit you twice once on the way out and again when it retracts!
Attack three - Laser eyes! When his eyes start to flash jump back. It can be stationary or moving up and down during this attack.
Attack four - the mecha pirate shoots across the screen and repeats his other attacks the tell for this is the whole robot 'holding himself back' before launching across the screen.

My best strategy involves hitting him a couple of times inbetween attacks. Learn the tells and when you can attack safely. The best time with this boss is during attack one. Remember you can use your UT if you are in trouble as a block as you take no damage whilst using it. Watch out for attacks as you come out of it though.

    Hope that helps.

    General tips:

    - Learn enemy tells they all have them before they attack - ie raising swords, guns etc
    - prioritise enemies - I always take gun toters out first as they tend to move to the edges and juggle you off other enemies attacks. (I have been in a horrible situation where I was bounced back and forth between them.
    - use your jump! Don't get surrounded as much as possible get the enemies in a group on the right end of your sword!
    - By level 30 the UT charges so fast you may as well use it whenever you need. Again try to wait till you have all the current enemies on one side though for maximum effect.
    - Enemies sometimes flash before launching a power attack - these seem to be counterable but an enemy is invincible whilst charging them (as far as I can tell)
    - Use your favourite combo don't worry to much about trying to use them all

The tell for the final boss' chain-hook is a robotic "har har", after which he will line up with you vertically and let 'er rip. These are all good tips though! I would add a couple notes about combo choice - the air juggle is great for singling out an annoying bomber/gunner while staying out of harm's way (you can't be hurt by most attacks while airborne). Also, the "higher level" combos break through a blocking opponent's guard as well.

I'm wondering, are there additional levels/stages via in-app purchase in the works? Or is this it? Great game. Would pay for more!

@MikaMobile Any thought on the crash bug I have in survival mode? It crashed twice on the bridge ... looks like it was about to go into a cave. Think the scene after the nighttime ship scene. You clear all the baddies ... ninja jumps off screen. Music stops ... game locks up.

To beat mecha-pirate ... best method I found was get it so your left glow-y orb power up thing is powered up. I usually attack him when he spews out the bombs. Other than that ... I sort of run around, occasionally attacking when he's yanking back the chain. I use the power-up attack on him. Just seems to help (?) beat him faster.

Attacking when the it's shooting out bombs I found is the safest time.

I'll look into your survival crash, I haven't been able to repro it myself yet though.

In-app purchases it's too early to say - we have update ideas, but we would only charge for a pretty substantial amount of content, so it really comes down to whether the demand is great enough. What we do with the coming weeks/months depends on how OMG is recieved (these first days have been great though, thanks everybody :)

Ah! I have been playing on silent quite a bit to avoid suspicion from the wife that's why I missed that one. Still addicted to the game. I have 'master' on all the easy level's just working through normal again!

Would love some future content - different skins, maybe throwing stars, co-op, and verses, OMG Ninja's is surely a must too! Great work - can't wait for your next project!

Just unlocked crazy speed mode as a cheat!!!! Think it's for getting a certain amount of master ninja ranks but could just be for finishing a level quickly!

Unstoppable mode makes attacks that hit you not interrupt your combos. You can still die, but you can't be interrupted by anything in the middle of your attacks. Crazy speed mode is a little more self explanatory - the game just runs 80% faster. :) There's a third one too which I saved for last because it makes you pretty much invincible...

These are unlocked in the options menu by getting "Master" rank on enough normal or hard mode levels - easy doesn't count cus its... ya know... easy. :)

Exactly how many master ranks do you need to unlock each mode?

I wanted to be (one of) the first to get Master on all the levels, and so far I'm experiencing a glitch on stage 3 Hard. I've completed it on Master rank, pressed Continue and the exited the game, but the game doesn't acknowledge that I've even passed that level. Did it again with Master and exited to Menu, but the same thing happens.

Probably will try to just pass it normally.

Anyway, amazing game that's really console quality, aside from the briefness of the Campaign which no doubt is due to the low price tag. Do come up with more levels, perhaps with more interactive environments and power ups.. And also the ability to skip speech bubbles so I don't have to keep hearing rum talk while repeatedly trying to get a Master rank for a particular boss =)

Will definitely buy more levels if things are kept fresh.. Does remind me of Guardian Heroes. So much potential!

Alright I just realized the "glitch" might be due to me forgetting to turn off unstoppable mode... Which really doesn't help because I restart the level every time I get hit!

Okay back to to the grind!

Just beat the game and man, that was a blast. Unlocked survival mode and I'll be having fun with that sharpening my ninja skills, lmao.

My only issue is that I unlocked a combination that basically says:

    Attack (wait) Attack (hold)

I've been trying it but it doesn't seem to do anything different than attack wait and attack again where you slash your enemy into the air and o that slicing combo mid-air.

Am I doing it wrong or something?

Anyways, great game! Well worth two bucks for a great beat em up.

Do you mean that your ninja jumps up and slashes his enemies in the air? I actually think I use that combo the most. Seems pretty effective ... and I got pretty far into Survival mode with that ... until it crashed :(!

But they fixed it they told me :D!

If you're a fan of sidescrolling beat-em-ups....hell yea! I mean, for two bucks it's a solid game.

My only complaint is that I want more weapons, levels, enemies, stages...etc.

    Answering a few questions...

    1) As SethBoy surmised, turning on a cheat makes it not record your score when you finish a level.

    2) A rare crash in survival mode is fixed (first thing I did after my plane landed last night), I'm submitting a 1.0.1 update right now.

    3) The air juggle has two versions, one where you hold the tap down throughout, and one where you just tap and release. The difference is the number of attacks you do in the air (one or three).

    4) Cheats are unlocked every 5 "master" ranks (so you have to have master on most of normal and hard to get the third and final one).

    5) To get master rank, you don't have to start the whole mission over if you get hit once, its not quite that punishing, but you DO have to get hit VERY little. The scoring is mostly based on how much damage you took, and if you take a very long time to finish the level it gets hard to reach master as well. You get small scoring bonuses for skillful play (pulling off counters or leaping over bullets) and for unleashing your super move successfully.
