No. Not at all. It's an honest to goodness brawler, with a story, RPG-style leveling, special moves, bosses, multiple environments, crazy fluid graphics, and tons of humor. In one word: awesome!

By the way, on normal mode it's pretty freaking tough.

As a fellow developer to MikaMobile (i.e. Competitor ;) )

I must say this game makes me love them and hate them at the same time

Love them: This is a great game. One noteworthy thing about MikaMobile is their unique graphic style. This was made aware in Zombieville USA and prevalent throughout OMG! Pirates. This game is the closest thing the AppStore has to Castle Crashers. Yes, the game is good. Heck, the training level is better than some $.99 games.

Hate them: Read the above. They make great games at great prices. Hard to compete. ;)

Game looks incredible. The production values look much improved over Zombieville.
    +1 all the way!

The platform needs games of High Quality to be legitimized.

    Syncing now. :D

I got some play time in and this game is amazing. As stated in earlier posts, the controls are extremely fluid. I love the leveling up system and the different combos and abilities that you unlock after leveling up. Way legit.

Does it control better than Tap Fu? Is it overall better than Tap Fu?

I've had Tap Fu on my iPod since I got, not because I liked it though. I have it because there's nothing to replace it.

Wow, great game. Just grabbed it and love it. Very fluid, very fun, and RPG elements add quite a bit of replay value.

My only problem thus far (and probably just me) I cannot turn around freakin' fast enough.

I just got a nice promo code from Knight (Tap Fu's developer), so it pains me to say this, but, yeah, it's better than Tap Fu.

So are the level up rewards random or set?

I believe they're set. (Sorry, I did make that sound like they were random).

Thanks, I'll pick this up then. :)

Tap Fu is a beautiful looking game, but the gameplay is lacking.

Loving the game so far. Only issue I have is if I'm trying to turn a certain way he turns but then goes back the way I don't intend. Nothing huge though and maybe it's just me.....

I think there are many reasons to love Tap Fu, and I think the new update adds to that, but the story is just so short and repetitive. OMG Pirates doesn't have those problems (well, I don't know how long it is yet, but it's certainly not repetitive).

Is this there up and down movement to the game ala Castle Crashers or is it just a left right sidescroll like Zombieville. Youtube video does not seem to show any up and down movement.

There's up and down (foreground - background) movement.

This game is like a beat em up button-mashing game. There is no lack of challenge and a little strategy involved. The game is nothing like Zombieville. Very fun so far. Well polished as expected.
