I find it easy to jump and attack in midair repeating the move in succession so you stay in the air and dispatch enemies without getting hit. it take a long time but works well in survival

Has anybody encountered a "problem" where the "continue mission" box pops up for survival mode? Because of this, I can play survival mode with no health, making me invincible. I'll post a screenshot of me getting bombed with no health left, if you need proof. Right now, my score is 218, but possibly could get up to the highest maximum score (once the freezing bug is fixed).

Having the "resume checkpoint" feature is intended, so that you can resume a survival game if you get a phone call or something in the middle of it. However, you've discovered a series of events which can lead to the saved "checkpoint" getting slightly corrupted, leaving the player stuck at zero health but still running around... whoopsie. This has also been fixed in the 1.0.1 update we submitted a couple days ago.

Awesome, pretty fast update :) Thanks!

Here's to hoping that this game does well enough to justify some downloadable content like more levels...etc.

    Great game!

I have bought too many games this week and forget if I asked but is this a 2-way virtual pad like Zombieville USA or a 4-way ? 4-way ones usually don't control well I find. Is the controll really good ?

Its four way and IMO it controls wonderfully.

Technically its "all way" - it may be shaped like a dpad but it handles like a 360-degree stick in the vein of a twin-stick shooter. Your movement isn't constrained to 90 or 45 degree angles as is common with d-pads (which I agree tend to work horribly).

    Sold :) :) .....4 responses in 2 minutes...................lol

I get the feeling that this is a tough game, but I will give it a try :)

I know it's a different type of game but I got really put off by Castle of magic and the virtual pad in that game.

It functions as an analog stick. 8 way movement. The d-pad icon rotates when you touch it. The controls are spot on.

I'm really having a lot of fun with OMG Pirates!, it has completely absorbed several hours of my day (fortunately I'm reviewing it!).

It's proving to be quite difficult to score those master rankings, and I'm loving the challenge :p

I just wanted to give one piece of feedback, and it would have to be that I'd love to see some form of global ranking in place, especially for survival mode, but maybe also for hard difficulty level too. One of the popular online platforms like OpenFeint or Plus+ would generate heaps of exposure too, and I'm thinking achievements would add so much to this game, particularly with your great use of humour in-game :p

Any chance we can see something along those lines in future updates?

The odds of adding a social network like OpenFeint or Agon are pretty slim. As a gamer myself, I don't really find the features they provide add a lot of "fun". The kinds of update material I find engaging are new levels, enemies, weapons, multiplayer, etc., and those are the requests we see in our reviews and e-mails too.

Achievements and leaderboards can be fun, but I think its only a sliver of the iDevice audience that really gets into that sorta stuff, so its kinda low on the priority list. Never say never though. :)

I would love that as well :)

It adds alot for me, that's for sure !

Of course, it is not necessary in this type of game that is more level based than purely score based, but would be a great bonus.

Edit: I did something wrong, no name appeared on the above quote !

glad it made the front page of TA and well written if I may add :)

"...as a number of 'secret' cheat modes that are unlocked on accumulating 5, 10 and 15 master ranks"

    can someone elaborate on this?

Going back over this thread will reveal a couple of these, but I think the dev is trying to keep details secret until people unlock them :p

There's Unstoppable mode, Crazy Speed mode and some sort of near-God mode. I'm pretty keen to find out what they all do for myself, but the first one at least has been explained as your combos being unblockable.

The second one makes you insanely fast I imagine, and the third I'm not so sure about. MikaMobile in this thread said "near invincibility", so maybe auto-counters? :p

I actually spilled the beans in another thread (someone was asking in the general game discussion). The third one is infinite super move. :p
