OMFG! I dropped my iPhone in the toilet (yes I had flushed before I dropped it in).

    What do I do?!

I went all the way under and turned on under the water and then went off.

Will it work again? Can I get some sort of refund?

    My life is ruined :(

    Advice needed.

Turn it off and put it in a (large) bowl (full) of rice. Make sure the WHOLE iphone is in the rice completely. Leave it in there for 24 hours. Then pray.

    Oh and wash your hands.

Like everyone said, dont even try to turn it on. Use a towel to dry it. Then wait atleast 3-4 days before even giving it a shot. You can put it in a bowl of dried rice as some people say that helps soaking every last bit of water from inside of the iPod.

Personally I will never ever use my iDevice again if I dropped it in the toilet though :p

Something dry that soaks up water like a bitch, but isn't small enough to get inside your iPhone.

    1. Cut a sponge in half the long way
    2. Sandwich your iPhone in between the two pieces.
    3. Apply peanut butter on your iPhone.
    4. Smear Jelly onto your iPhone.
    5. Take a huge bite.

Go out and get some rice. The only other thing which is likely to work nearly as well is silica gel (the stuff in the little pouch when you get new sneakers), and it's quite unlikely that you have a lot of that on hand.

I dropped a little water on my iPhone a few years ago. Kept it right above the exhaust of my MacBook. The thing gets quite hot (still not too hot) and kept my iPhone warm enough to dry off all the moisture inside. Worked perfectly when I turned it on a couple of days later.

But may be I just got lucky there. So dont blame me if you try something similar and end up melting your iPod :p

hahaha shamwow indeed, hmm pasta? maybe

  16. Baking soda, flour or starch. Don't dunk the phone in it, wrap it well in a paper towel and then bury it the powder. Baking soda absorbs better but flour or starch will work too.

Is it wise to get those fine particles in and iphone?

  18. That's why you wrap it well in a paper towel. It keeps the powder out but it's porous enough to allow liquid to be absorbed by the towel and the powder.
