all my colleagues have the cracked version of GTA right now .. to be frank, I'm considering to JB my itouch as well .. and considering to download the cracked version of this game as well .. then probably remove my TAAP sig ..

not that I don't care .. but it's really frustasting to see great things like this is being localized to certain country only .. Is there any some sort of policies that actually prevent the game to be sold here at my country? I mean really, is that really the case? or is it solely depending on developer decision?

If you don't want to resort to piracy there are a couple of people on this forum willing to help those who can't buy it in their own App Store. Send them the money and they'll get you a gift card for the US store, then you can make a US account and download it.

Be careful who you do this with though obviously, drelbs and hirschy75 have done it already so they can be trusted.

Hm, these are good news. I had no idea about this rumor. But, unfortunately, rumor is rummor. Apple keep their secrets carefuly, we can be sure anything until the final conformation.
On 27th of January is going to take place mysterious convent, where Apple will show their "latest creation", maybe also mention about 4.0 software for our iDevices.

Back in the day there was a demo for GTA 1 and I believe for GTA 2 too. They were simply time limited (15mins (or what ever), do what you want, as much as you can - and then start all over again). I guess Rockstar could do similar thing with GTA: CW too. "Could do" is of course far from "will do."

OS updates have always been free for the iPhone, but for some stupid reason Apple charges iPod Touch users for the same update. I hope they will change that, because asking money for the update just means that some people aren't going to buy the update, and thus won't get the new features, which then means that app developers need to make their apps compatible with 2 different versions of the OS. Hopefully Apple will come to it's senses this year.

BTW: GTA: CW requires iPhone OS 3.1 or later, based on the App Store information.

Listen closely brother, there IS a way to buy the game for you. I did, because i didn't want to jailbreak and i HATE, HATE piracy! There are a bunch of cool dudes on the forum, as MidianGTX said earlier. I resorted to 2 of those amazing people: Drelbs and Hirschy75. They both are very friendly and 100% legit, they answered all my questions and i got my gift card code very fast. Then all you have to do is make a US account and download the game bro! :) I payed Drelbs and Hirschy75 via my PayPal account. So if you don't want to LAG LIKE HELL once you jailbreak, and if you hate piracy, then go for this method. Much easier and loads better.

? Every iPhone OS update was for free. Only iPod touch customers had to pay a very small fee.

iphone updates are always free, and always have been. however the ipod users have to pay for the upgrade which makes sense considering the ipod isnt subsidized.

iPod touch update to 3.0 software costs 4.95$.
And, with this optimistic matter, I have to say that I own iPod touch and this free software upgrade will miss me.

Oh yeah it's definitely possible, I just don't think it's worth their time at the moment. The game is selling like hot cakes so it's not as though they aren't convincing people enough. Plus if they do plan to do a lite, I doubt they've made one already... so it'd take a bit of extra dev time to put the necessary restrictions on and whatnot. I think if a lite comes out it'll be in a few months time when sales start to slow down.

There is still no demo of GTA:CW on the PSP, even though the game has sold poorly. I wouldn't expect that they would do a lite for the much less expensive iDevice version, especially since, as Midian point out, the game is selling phenomenally well.

Oh yeah, your right. I forgot that only Touch users had to purchase the updates. I remember it was $10 for them when the upgrade first came out. Personally I think all software updates should always be free. That is certainly how my company releases it's software and we literally add about 60-70 new additions per year.

Yea bro i know i know but i was just wondering if that SWEET minigame with the sniper rifle is available? What about some roofs to snipe from? this REALLY turned me off from Gangstar, which is a soulless, miserable failure. NO roofs and a PHAILING sniper with barely a zoom? not my thing lol

Umm I couldn't tell you..I'm only about 30% through, and I haven't done many minigames. I've never even been on top of a building..I'm sure there's spots but you'd have to look and favorite them so you remember.

honestly, I HATE PIRACY as well .. but as much as I hate piracy, I hate the localization of the game as well .. I can't simply see what is the purpose of it ..

what I want to know is why it has to be localized? I mean, in this case is Rockstar hate us Asian or what? or they just ignorant, that Asian people do exist and do HAVE THE MONEY to buy their product? or is it because they just arrogant and to them ASIAN is just a too small market, so they don't really care that they lost small amount of prospect?

I mean if that is really the case, would you blame me if I download the cracked version of the game?

Of course it is their right on how they want to sell their product .. but I would think that it is my right to download the cracked version as well .. although, true that I can resort to another alternative such as per suggested, but they way I see it's that's sort of smuggling ..

yes, smuggling is better than stealing .. at least we pay the dev for their product .. but why should I care for the dev, if they don't care about us?

It's not Rockstar Games's fault, believe me. It's more likely your goverment or some kind of policy.
