Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying that the iPhone graphical quality sucks or anything. But I am saying when compared to the PSP, the PSP is still better. Outside of night time, I don't see many differences to even be able to say which is superior when it's daytime. I would only pick the PSP because the screen size is larger and that makes it look more astonishing. I don't want to deter anyone from getting this game for the iPhone, it's the best game out there, I'd say.
A 3GS would be capable. API Support (Series5 and Series5XT) PVR2D for legacy 2D Support (BLTs, ROP2/3/4), OpenVG 1.1 enabling Flash and SVG, OpenWF enabling advanced compositing, OpenGL ES 1.1 + Extension Pack and OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenCL Embedded Profile and Full Profile (SGX545) for GP-GPU, Desktop OpenGL 2.0 (SGX535/545) and 3.0 (SGX545) and Microsoft Direct3D Mobile, DirectX9 (SGX535/545) and 10.1 (SGX545) http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2009/06/iphone-3gs-gpu.html
in some levels I actually like the graphics on the iPhone better than the PSP due to the much higher resolution, as well as better Anti-Aliasing (it seems the edges and lines are much noticeably smoother and textures also tend to look better for the iPhone). I don't really care much about the minor lighting difference nearly as much as the resolution. Actually the iPhone's lighting isn't bad either. It's pretty good. I certainly did not expect this much coming from a 3G and I think Rockstar has nailed the graphics and performance compromise very well.
I think it actually is capable of doing that. On the PSP its overbrighted, something every iDevice is capable of, check out Speed Forge Extreme(lite). Anyways, it doesn't matter. You can take the game anywhere with an iTouch/iPhone, not with a PSP(well in theory you can, but a PSP/PSPgo is not as small as an iPhone/iTouch.
When you've completed the campain, lions or something will appear on some places in the city to collect(well, at least in the DS version), they will appear in the places where the blue fireflies are flying(not all the locations, just some of them).
Yeah the graphics do look quite a bit sharper and the edges are smoother on the iPhone version. Also the texture/resolution is better on the iPhone. Although I see what that other guy said about the good lighting effects on the PSP version. iPhone/iPod Touch: (Screenshot taken from my iPhone 2G) PSP:
You'll need a US iTunes account and a source of funds. Regarding the account - I can't answer that one because I've got a US iTunes account and have never felt the need to change it. As for funds - if you can do PayPal, I can buy gift cards valid in the US App Store... (Now that Apple has cleared up my account!)
f*ck this...i need checkpoints in the bomb defusion mission...i disable all bombs, then one blows up because im too far away
When the pspgo is closed it is about the same width and length (rounded ends) it is just twice as high.
Ultimately, I agree with synther: it doesn't really matter which version has better graphics. Both are good enough to make the city come alive, which is really the point. As an aside, I find it interesting that the second highest rated game on the PSP is a DS port.
That's wrong. The iPhone does have shadows (well, at least every building does, and they look just as good as the PSP's shadows).
I agree that it is a DS port but when you see the two side by side you would say that the PSP version came first and the graphics were downscaled to the DS. Also the PSP version has extra missions. Does the iPhone have the reporter missions?
GTA is the only game missing from the swiss app store, so I don't think its worth the effort, but thanks. It is easier for me to go to france and buy a gift card there, but don't i need a different account then, or have to change the data drastically?
Damn you rockstar!!! The more I play this, the more I feel like cleaning out old games on my iTouch and reconsidering getting future games. Damn this all-around good quality... Damn you RockStar for raising the bar on all gaming platforms uTouch!
