Those of you who said that the Graphics look like the DS version, I want some of what you are Smoking man! http://www.gametrailers.com/video/ds-psp-comparison-grand-theft/58006 Judging from this DS vs PSP comparison above, the iPhone version looks nearly identical to the PSP version graphically, this is saying from an iPhone 3G (NOT even 3GS). edit: SOme of you asked how does it perform on 3G. It performs very well (and looking great too)
Graphic comparison for this game PSP > iDevice >> NDS but iDevice version is much cheaper than other two versions
If it means anything, I would say PSP > iPhone >>>> DS To show how the scale of quality really looks like. When talking about prices, it does not make sense to compare between two different markets. Talking relative prices, $10 is premium for the iPhone. $30 is for PSP. So they are roughly the same in their relative markets. Of course I prefer to have it on the phone just because I hate carrying the PSP (though I don't have the game for it).
Actually, I do think the game looks better on the DS. Why? Because that engine was developed for that specific platform, and it looks cleaner and more vibrant. That probably has something to do with the fact that DS screens are considerably smaller than the iPod's.
I agree in the sense that it is difficult to directly compare the DS and the PSP/iPhone versions since one is using cel-shading and the other is a more traditional 3D graphics engine. Personally, I prefer the look of the PSP/iPhone versions with the PSP version of course being graphically superior between the two. The PSP/iPhone versions are inconsistent in the sense that they retain the DS style for the cut scenes and the character models in game, which look out of place.
Pocketgamer also felt that the iPhone graphics were better than the DS version although they felt the PSP version was still far ahead.
I checked the Mexican App store and GTA:CTW is not on it. However there are still ways you can get the app without having to jailbreak.
How would that be? Here in NZ it is still not out, despite both psp & ds being allowed by our censors, we don't have the draconian Aussie censorship so heavily so I'd love to know how to get around it. I do have a US account, but no US visa registered over there.
Yeah im in NZ also and was so annoyed that it didn't come out I spent a few hours trying to work out how to get around it. I'll PM you since this is a public forum.
If you somehow haven't bought this game yet- http://toucharcade.com/2010/01/19/grand-theft-auto-chinatown-wars-review/ Buy it now.
Would love to, my dear sir, if it weren't for the minor inconvenience of it not being available in some parts of Asia... But, loved the review nonetheless... ..thanks, I think
You added the lack of pedestrian chatter in your review You wouldn't know how to burnout while in a car would you?
Folks, what the heck are them blue spinning things located in hard to find places? I've tried running through them and all sorts but they do nothing?
hey Just about all the ones who are be happy a la "Oh I played 1 Hour and just 4.49 % missions". Usually after playing all missions, you get about 66 or 68 %. GTA4 had that, too. So the remaining 32-34 % are then destroying all cameras, or whatever, make x amount in taxi missions, drug dealing, and some kind of achievements. EDIT: for example in GTA4 over the half of the remaining 30 % were "shooting all 100 pigeons" That could be really frustrating exercise So if you calculate your personal playing time depending how long it took you to reach for example those 4.49 % or whatever, keep in mind that all mission playing bring you only about ~ 70 % in game progress! 2 funniest things recently happened in-game: Accidently drove over a hot dog stand, and it exploded in a giant fireball At the beginning the missions with the 3 cars, had several attempts, at one attempt one car is in a parking area with 3 or 4 cars, and another thieft simultanesly jacked a car besides mine. That happened only at this one attempt of mine. So cool how random and simulation-like this game feels, every playtime feels different, so much entertain in your pocket.
