If I remember correctly from playing the DS version last year, those swirly things come into play after you finish the main story... you have to locate a couple of lion statues or something. There are a bunch of swirly things, but only two randomly placed statues, I think.
I guess they're not totally convinced by the iPhone gaming market yet... this is still an experiment for them. Maybe if the sales are good they'll develop/market/release the next portable GTA at the same time on all 3 platforms.
I'm really loving this game! Just started playing it and it runs like butter on my iPod Touch 2G! I'm blown!
This isnt out in the swiss app store!!!! And beaterator never got released there either. Is there any way I can buy the game?
This is the post I used in another GTA CW thread, but since more people go here I decided to post it here

Just bought it and installed. I already have the DS rom (flashcart) but I almost never take my DS anywhere anymore. I always have my touch on me though.
Not autosaving when you hit home button, but saves when you are in house and also there's an option so you can save your game in game menu.
I really wish people would double check their grammar when writing reviews. Proper grammar goes such a long way towards establishing legitimacy, etc. I enjoyed the review but grammatical errors are like speedbumps on a serene street. Man do they ruin the drive.
Yeah - imagine a Firebird going "wumb... wumb... wumb..." over speedbumps. Can't compare it to a real highway drive. I just wanted to post the link because the guy from that site hasn't posted it here. I also know some of our lazy folks around here...." woot? no link...? meh..." And always remember: There is only one Touch Arcade. There is only one Eli Hodapp. Hail to the king! We're not worthy! We're not worthy!
Damn, they took out something of the DS version- voice clips from NPC's. For example, if you attacked some guy, they'd say "Help! There's a lunatic!" "Im still a virgin!", etc. They were all sounds taken from GTA4, but still made the city feel more alive.
