So about the app size, do you download 188mb and it installs 620mb or even though it says 180mb do you download 620mb?
My friend says: crappy. When the streets are full of people, cars and stuff it is getting laggy. But I don't know myself. When it comes to him, 28 instead of 30 frames = big lag...
I'm not surprised. The cut scenes are endless...blah blah blah...can I get to the mission please. This is not a pick-up and play title unless you are flying across continents.
I've had the impression since the game was announced on iPhone through to this release that R* ported it more as an exercise in seeing what was possible than an attempt to make money. Also, if you've ever played any computer game in your life ever, you don't need a description for a GTA game. If this is your first game ever ever, boy are you in for a treat! I do agree though that they should have screenshots of the final version, if only to avoid any issues with trade descriptions.
Almost by definition, GTA games are not pick-up-and-play. And the cut scenes are where the story and humor come through.
Does this game include the side [non story] missions found in the DS version like rampage or gang kill etc. Also, can you replay the missions by going to your safehouse?
I also checked the file size information for four other games: * Dungeon Hunter has same info on both Applications -> More Info and in App Store * Underworlds has same info on both too * Real Racing has same info on both too * Ravensword has smaller file size in App Store I don't know why it's like that. Those apps are compressed anyway - they are just Zip-files with the file extension changed to ipa. Also I'm not sure that it's possible to compress 620MB data to 188MB. So it seems like the file size informations are sometimes wrong in App Store.
But maybe it is decompressing by installation on the iDevices? Look at the loading times - on PSP it took long time... on the iPhone 3G S, I have almost no loading time. If there were a decompressing routine first, it would take much more time to load.
