Awesome port and game! Not the best GTA but a very good one. There is an option to put MP3 music in the radio too!!
Game Impressions I'll also join the Can't Understand Some People Club. A full game, console quality at that, 620MB, full 3D graphics, whole lot of things to do... and 9,99$ is too much for it? Anyways, played couple/few hours (lost track of time) and I can fully recommend this game. At first I was a bit "meh". "There's a lot of dialog here", "Boooriing". But played some more (tutorial part of games are often boring) and it sucked me in. There seems to be quite a lot of things to do. For example GTA4 (on those big machines, if you didn't know) were little "empty". You just drove around and did missions, and once you completed all the missions, there were nothing else than driving left. In GTA: CTW though, there's all kinds of small things to do. You can buy scratch off cards, make tattoos, drive taxi (not sure if there's minigames/mini-missions for police car/ambulance/fire truck), do some mini-missions and maybe more I haven't yet seen. Oh, and drug dealing. That captivated me instantly and before I knew I already had 9000$, which is quite a lot (you get 50$ per completed main mission). Also all those small things, like the minigames when stealing certain cars, or going to gas station to make molotovs and so on, add quite a lot to the game. And those mini-missions, or what ever they should be called, like that time attack type race through a graveyard (need to finnish it within specified time to get a bronze medal, then silver and I suppose gold after that - took me few attempts to even get the bronze), adds even more content to the game. And I have no idea how many such things there are. Also RockStar did very good job with the controls and UI in general. The only complaint about controlls I have is when shooting people. There's no automatic targeting (or very little if there is) so you'll be shooting in the walls quite alot, at least at first. But there haven't been much of shooting yet, so can't say how well that part works after getting used to it. Overally: Buythisgame.
How do i change my steering types iv only found the defualt driving controls and the virtual joystick. There is anouther control type shown earlier i the thread that id like to change mine to.
what?? why can't they just released it to all countries? guess I just stick with Payback and Gangster ..
why are people complaining about the graphics? they are awesome and to me the screenshots are not the same version as on the appstore. this game is awesome and definitely worth the 9.99 price tag.
Those screenshots in the iTunes page are from some earlier version of the game. Besides those screenshots looking pretty bad, the button layout is also different in those screenshots than in the game. Also the iTunes page says that the size of the game is 188MB, while it's really 620MB.
Well, I am... . Look, it's simple. If you're interested in playing console action games on your iDevice (and don't have an analog stick fetish), then here you have the highest rated one in both portable platforms at a fraction of the price. It's the same game, slightly improved from the DS original, with over 50 hours of well-crafted gameplay. Go buy it right now: you won't regret it. If you're not interested in console action games on the iDevice (or have a religious objection to virtual d-pads), there are plenty of other excellent choices in the App Store. Go get them (I would recommend Battle Blasters and Heavy Mach 2). You have nothing to add to this thread, so please don't bother posting on it.
stupid localization .. I want this game badly .. think I'm going to register for US account and try to get some itunes card .. can anyone pinpoint me on where I can buy itunes card? previously I just used my credit card so I don't really bother about itunes card .. thanks ..
Hu? I already bought that game. I am already playing it. I definately have something to add to this thread - and for you, I explain it a second time, this time slowly: I answered to the discussion about the file size. People were wondering why the PSP version ist 600 mb and the iDevice version 188 mb. I just explained that it is possible that the textures of GTA-CW on the iPhone are compressed because there is no need for compression on a PSP cartridge. But iDevice users would swear if the game had the same size in their iPod/iPhone as on a PSP cartridge. I just quoted myself to explain that. You, my friend, weren't listening, too.
a big title comes to the platform and it gets bashed. laughs. this game rocks and so much fun , worth 10.00 easy. chris.
Sorry Vovin -- that part wasn't aimed at you. I've just been going through the thread and getting more and more frustrated.
I kinda want to ask about this cause until now its still not available for me.. I can only hope that it will be available in Japan store when I return back there on next Monday.. otherwise.. no way to get it
