After seeing this thread and the front page post...

    I. NEED. NEW. PANTS!!!

I even love my iPhone just more after today, such an amazing collection of games in my pocket, it's just amazing, sudoku, strategy, tower defense, racing, rpg, hack'n'slash, physics etc etc it's all there on that small device. And GTA now is just the new king in town :D

Just want to mention, that even when the game is 188 MB in download, it takes extracted on device more away, though. In my case it's ~ 610 mb. Before install I had about a bit over 1 GB free, now only 392 MB.

I noticed that before on some games, The settlers from Gameloft for example, took way over 400 mb away from my iPhones free space.

Finally got to playing it. And yeah, it's awesome. They didn't leave anything out of the DS one. The controls of course aren't as easy to use, but I'll get the hang of it.

    Amazing game. Totally worth $10.

How does the save system work? What about getting a call mid mission?

You've chosen to use your iDevice that way; there's nothing inherent in it that keeps people from playing for hours at time (except battery life, of course ;)).

The game saves automatically after the completion of each mission (you can turn this off in the settings). You also have the option of saving manually at any point in the game.

We should start an online petition.

The developer of Payback shall give kudos to Rockstar and pull Payback out of the App Store.

Because Payback is just a laugh in your face after playing 10 minutes Chinatown Wars.

I have to say I had Üayback installed months ago and played some missions, but after Car Jack Streets came out I kicked Payback. Even CJS su**s extremly compared to this game here!

    The best there is

This game by far exceeded all my expectations. I'm sure we've all been wondering about the control scheme - I can assure you they are the best Rockstar could have done. I too have played through the DS and PSP versions. This is by far the better version. I paid $40 for the PSP version and thought it was worth every penny, and to pay $10 to have a copy on my iPod was just too good to pass up. As some have mentioned the graphical quality is on par with the PSP version and there's been no lag on my end. I just ran through the bridge a few times at high speed. I remember the PSP version not being able to fill in graphically quick enough and you'd end up driving trough missing sections of the highway. I haven't seen that here. I'm quite pleased- No bugs, glitches, and I feel like we all have something to really prove that this device can have a true console-quality feel. Thanks Rockstar!!!!!

I was like 70-80% done. Not sure how many hours, but it was a lot.

The one trouble I have with this one is driving. And targeting is a bit difficult too. I wish you could tap enemies to lock on.

Yes, and Payback came out over a year ago. Honestly, what do you expect? Of course an official Rockstar GTA is going to be better than the clones.

Hey I bought Payback and played it! At that time it was "great", and no rival in the app store. My post was intentioned for the current situation in the present, of course I am aware that Payback was months ago. I just wanted to say that "currently" Payback is a pure joke and my personal hope is that the dev pulls it out.

One interesting thing about the city.

In GTA3, GTA Vice City, Car Jack Streets, Gangstar I learned quited fast the map, After some playtime I had the city "in my mind" and new always where I'm located right now.

In GTA4 and GTA CW now, that's completly different (I've read somewhere that the CW city is based on GTA4 grounds?). The city is soooo big and so different buildings/objects, that I can really get lost into it.

It is THAT big that I can't get that "I always know where I am located right now" feeling, for me that's an huge plus. It keeps that game always interesting that way :)
