There is a sticky spot on the rock at the side that faces the tee. It's not in the center of the rock's top but at the edge of the top. You reach that spot best if you lay your tee shot into the rough next to the rock instead of the fairway. From the rock you can time your shot such that it finds the hole.

    Hello okidokico,

First, thank you so much for choosing to make your game premium.

I am a little late teeing off here, but I was able to pick up (only due to limited funds this month) the game this week. But so far, I am very, very happy with this well designed golf game. The portrait mode is a very welcomed addition.

Also a big thank you to everyone who has posted hints and locations of the secret holes, it really helps.

Can't get my ball to do this either :/ Just bounces off the rock each time!

Enjoying this game. It is really a golf puzzle - find the best route from tee to pin - and not a golf sim. I find puzzles more engaging than just precision and timing. Personally I also quite like how the hole is big and putting is really easy because I think putting is often the most boring part of golf games.

I'm a bit scared to point it out in case the devs take it away, but the shake pattern on power shots is the same each time, which is really helpful for timing. The first shake pattern just swings left and right, so isn't very useful. I follow the second shake pattern with the phrase: "feint right, stir the pot, and around". On the around you can hit it long and right at about 1 or 2 o'clock on the white circle. You can also hit is short at about 6 o'clock on the white circle. The third shake pattern goes down then up - when it goes up you can hit it long and straight.

    Spoiler for hole 5 Tsukimi:
I use the third shake pattern to hit it long to the island on the first shot - this sets you up for eagle. You can also use the long and right shot from the second shake pattern, but I find the third one more reliable.

W180 is a genius for working out Nice View.

I use the second shake pattern to hit it short onto the fairway by the rock. Specifically I hit it towards the 3rd out of the 4 columns of fairway boxes. The ball ends up in that column on the last row of boxes. This tee shot is nearly 100% reproducible. From there I aim at the middle of the rock horizontally and at the top of the shadow vertically. I can get the ball to stick about 50% of the time (with practise!!) From the rock I line up the pin between the "P" and the "a" of "Par 5" at the top right of the screen - this is in portrait mode. I then use the second shake pattern to hit the ball long and right, but releasing before the white line is pointing at the pin. I've got an eagle twice doing this! That is with an insane number of attempts though. A birdie is much easier. My advice - don't bother with the eagle.

I want to discuss one more hole: Long Lake 8.

It is possible to get an albatross on this hole with a lucky pitch out the rough. An eagle is pretty much guaranteed. The most reliable route is to aim across the water and trees towards the very right-hand side of the green. If you wait for the yellow focus circle and aim towards the middle of the 3 trees on the corner then the ball will strike the trees and drop down into the rough (alternatively if you go for a longer tee shot using a shake pattern you can get fractionally nearer the hole, but still in the rough). From there you need to pitch in. It took me an insane number of attempts to pitch in. I started to get superstitious about where the ball would go when pitching. I fancy there is an unseen shake pattern so started trying out different delays before releasing the pitch shot. I think about 4 counts got me a long straight pitch! It might be my imagination.

There is another route to an albatross, but it is very improbable. You basically hit a long tee shot using a shake pattern at 90 degrees across to the green. With luck it will drop down into the rough. It's still a pitch out of rough and you need the maximum distance to make it to the hole. I don't recommend this route.

Hi, it seems you look for the lowest scores as I do. My scores so far: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3982860&postcount=129

Do you have any suggestions for further holes to play eagles or albatrosses?

Those are some crazy good scores silwal. In fact your post inspired me to shoot a couple more eagles. You're still a couple ahead of me though. I'm pretty much waiting for the new course now.

I've now joined you on having eagled all holes on Desert Canyon, except the first one which is an albatross.

Got one more eagle for you. Hole 8 of Tsukimi. The route is obvious but it takes a lot of practise.

Great! I have tried it several times but never managed to get it in.

Did you lay the tee shot on the lamp's roof?

I have tried to eagle more holes but never got them done:

    Tsukimi 2:
At this hole I found out, that the lamps have sticky roofs, but I always missed the lamp to the right from the tee. Could only get there from the rough next to the lamp.

    Tsukimi 7:
tee shot on the rock to the right next to the small tree, but the tree is in the way of the second shot.

    Tsukimi Pond:
lay the tee shot on the bridge...

    Long lake 5:
lay the tee shot on the rock far right (the bottom right of the rock). I never came close to the hole from there with the crazy scattering shot.

For this one I used what you call the second shake pattern "around". I took less than 20 tries.

    Tsukimi 8:
If you look straight ahead from the tee, there is a pair of bushes just before the small pond with the lamp in the middle. You need to land the tee shot straight in the middle of the large bush. To get the correct distance I used the second shake pattern. So basically you aim just a bit to the left hand side of the small bush. The second shake pattern then goes left, right, left (hit now) and then does the stir the pot. If you released on the second left and it was aimed at the centre of the bush then the tee shot will stick and you can go for the green with the long 'around'. Getting the tee shot right is hard first time but once you've got it it's easy because the shake pattern is slow on the second left.Hope that makes sense!
