    Making iPhone games

    Woo-hoo!

I have almost every Pokemon GameBoy Color and GBA game there is, have tons of high level Pokemon on them, and I used to collect trading cards, but I was spending so much money on them I didn't have enough for the app store so I quit collecting except for garage sales, and I play Pokemon World Online on my PC, so I would be a great candidate for this position once you're ready! I'm so freakin excited! Pokemon on the iPhone! If you want to get into the Top 100, have an intro sale of $2.99 and then once you start falling down the charts, decrease the price to $1.99 as a pre-update sale, then once the update comes out with new creatures to catch and etc. bump the price up to 5 bucks and keep releasing frequent updates! I really hope I can beta test! the screenshots look awesome! Don't forget to include the Safari Zone in a different unique way!

It's not ready yet, I'm still working and tweaking things. It may be a bit before I'm fully comfortable with showing it all off, but I'll give you guys a sneak preview in here when I get something that looks good. I like where it's headed, just need some polish and work at various parts of the game (like different creatures and gameplay elements designed) that need to be added to it also before I want to show it. I don't want to show something that's so important to the game when it's only half-finished and get a lousy first impression.

for future beta testing: i have an iPod Touch 3G and an iPod Touch 1G, also I have access to an iPod Touch 2G (my girlfriends :p), so if you would like me to test, let me know ;)

    +1

Floating analogue stick like X2 Football or the one in Blades of Fury is great too.

    The style looks great! :)

+2 I really prefer xbox or ps3 like analog sticks for movement.

on my jailbroken ipod touch 2g, i have a gameboy emulator and i play pokemon on it sometimes (crystal mainly :p)
the problem is, you have to use the D-Pad (up,down, left, right) to move.. you dont understand how annoying it is with the virtual buttons.. if it was physical, then great! but its not.. it just gets in the way. i always wished someone would mod the pokemon games to work with touch to move. it saves screen space AND is much easier to use

tho, you do need to have the accuracy of D-pad movement at times.. tap to touch would work much better in my opinion

at least make it an option

it is a mistake of the emulator, not of the game^^
and you have right/left, up/down buttons for the movement^^

i know, thats what i said.

with physical buttons the controls would be fine, but with virtual.. well. the movement sucks

Hey I just stumbled acrossed this when I was browsing the web on my iPod. I am so glad you guys are making this happen I've wanted this for months but couldn't find anything like this. (there's another game called morphs? Look it up) I don't know if you guys know about that? there creating a game like pokemon too. http://sites.google.com/site/morphsiphone/ I love your screen shots 100 times better. There's doesn't even look like a pokemon game.

    Pokemon?

I love the screenshots. Doing it in the same style of pokemon diamond/pearl DOES help my attraction too it. One this I can definitely say is to add an option for a D-pad. This game is grid-based, so we'll need one... Not to say you can't add more, but a D-pad is a must for grid-based games. Also, don't rush this. I'm fine with this coming out winter of 2010 if the sprites are not super crappy.

I realy wouldn't care if this game WAS a total rip off of pokemon.. i think i would love it even more! Just promise you'll be able to ride a bike, or run.

And this thread is the reason i made this account!

I've been wanting iphone pokemon for aaaaages.. i even sent an email to nintendo demanding them to make it! .. they just said 'we have no plans to make a game for this platform, but you don't know what the future holds so keep checking the site!'

Now i hate nintendo.. but if you guys make a good game i LOVE you.

Your never too old for pokemon =D

p.s i agree, dont rush it, i dont mind waiting 5 years as long as its good

    Screenshots

Could you post screenshots of the battle system? Sprites do take a while, but it'd be really great to get an idea of the quality of the sprites and variety of animations.

    McDonalds! French Fries anyone?
At that place... with those... people...
Hmm... Maybe you could have everyone on TA come up with their own creature? That way, there would be a lot of variety in each creature, and you dont have to do all of the creatures! You could have it like, 10 pixels high by 7 pixel wide or something like that.
