Hi everyone, Alex here - one of the designers on Space Miner: Space Ore Bust. We're all really excited about the upcoming submission of the game to Apple, but our quality assurance testing has brought some unnerving details to light. You see, in Space Miner, you can travel to any of these sectors in the asteroid field. 48 sectors are A LOT of sectors, and its not easy coming up with clever, catchy names for all of them. Apparently, one of our designers (*cough*) fell asleep at the wheel when coming up with their names and descriptions, resulting in some placeholder text nearly making it into the game. The CEO was less than pleased Long story short, we need to replace the following sectors: To make matters worse, the design team for Space Miner has completely run out of good ideas. Seriously, look at this official Venan Design Whiteboard: And then, out of nowhere, inspiration struck! A commercial for the International Star Registry came on the radio just before we gave up hope. It made perfect sense: we'd been spending all this time trying to think of crazy names, but we already have millions of names to choose from! Yours! To capitalize on our new idea, we've established the Gritstone Mining Sector Registry. Now you can be immortalized in the Space Miner Universe! Here's how it works: 1.) Head over to our Space Miner preview thread 2.) Ask a question about the game! You can ask about the gameplay, the sound/music, the storyline, the company - anything within reason. You ask, and we'll answer! 3.) If you post a question, we'll enter your name in a drawing. The contest will end on Saturday at midnight EST (1/30). The very next day, we will pick 2 lucky winners for our deluxe Space Miner Immortality Package, including: - A sector named for (or after) them in the Space Miner Universe! - An iTunes gift card worth a reported 25,000 tenths of a cent! - A promotional code for the game when it launches! Venan Entertainment will have final approval over the names used and we may ask for alternate names from our winners in the case that a chosen name is inappropriate. So keep it clean, folks!
The graphics are very well done, what other game(s) influenced yours? It looks well designed I will def pick it up as soon as it's released. Thanks, Ryan
I think you're meant to ask in the other topic... I did o.o Also, loved the humour in the description of the sectors, lol.
whiteboard sector is a great name imo. i asked a few questions in the thread! hope i get immortalised (fossilised?) forever in your game!
Questions Posted I like the pics of the overlord CEO and the whiteboard of many sectors. Good luck to everyone

Ha ha. I asked my questions just to learn more about this looking promising game. If I knew my luck I am not about to win, but in the future I want to buy Space Miner. As more I know, as better. Great contest anyway, pretty unique inhere. And Your CEO is looking frighteing... By the way, doesn't "CEO" shortcut mean: "Creator Of Everything" with with replaced letters to mislead?
Just under 3 hours left folks! Due to our tight time requirements, winners will have one day, namely Sunday, to claim their prize and get their name in the game. Finally, as an added bonus and thank you to all the great questions, we're going to throw in three additional promo-code consolation prizes. The countdown is on!
Will the chance of winning depend on the ammount of questions you did or everyone has an equal chance?
Yay thanks . I was busy this week so I was worried, It's luck now ò.ó How will you decide? 20 sides dice?
Random.org? I thought it was a cool idea for a contest, it made me actually stop and think about the game, not as a game but as someone's work of art. (thats why I was hoping for the 'making of' video but the blog was interesting too)
Lol at first I though you were joking with the name of the site... I was like "no way that exists... but... wait.. we're in the internet.. so lets try" Actually looks very nice, will make sure to remember for when I need it
