I don't think they are. I think they said that you have to spend money on things such as appearance but other than that, nothing else. They also said that whatever was purchased wouldn't unbalance the game and give some players an advantage over others.

I think I heard that it would be released sometime around the 3.0 OS update (June 18th). So maybe two weeks? I'll try to confirm it and get back at you guys.

    EDIT: June 17th

This is as close to confirming it as I could get.

And it's been announced that the 3.0 OS update is on June 17th so there you have it.

Yes. I blocked vertical movement, put horizontal turn speed at maximum.

June 17th is the 3.0 release.
The game will probably come out on June 17th or soon after June 17th.

I just thought of something. Since the videos have been running on an iPhone 3GS, then what about other users? Will it be backwards compatible? If so, how much would the graphics be downgraded? I really want to buy this.

It will run fine on all devices without any loss in graphics. You have to remember that the majority of this game was built before we even knew that the iPhone 3GS existed. If ngmoco made it so it would only run on the iPhone 3GS (which I know, for sure that they haven't) it would be a big mistake as they would be loosing most of their potential customers and hardly making any money.

The game was built for 3.0, not specifically for the iPhone 3GS. It will work on all iDevices.

EDIT: LBG beat me to it...sorry.

Phew. It's just that I read somewhere that it's made with openGL 2.0, which isn't supported with other models. Guess that source was wrong. Now I can go back to drooling over it ;)

openGL 2.0 won't affect older iDevice generations that much from what I've heard. Most big developers are already use to having to support multiple standards on other platforms. The games will run optimally based on the device you have. Of course the best experience will be on an iPhone 3GS and the next generation iTouch when games are made for openGL 2.0.

Consider the PC market and all the set ups out there. Games have minimum requirements and the more power your PC has the better the games will run. I personally don't see developers creating games where you would need a minimum requirement of having the iPhone 3GS or later. Especially with the 3G getting it's $99 price tag.

.......you guys are speaking other languages....

Basically, the game looks cool, it should be coming out soon, it works fine on iTouches, and looks cool.

Great to know that I'll be able to run i fine on my iPod Touch 1G and my iPod Touch 2G. This way I can play against my friend and beat the crap out of him. :)
