yes. i dont think its possible to crack DLC. i think.... everyone should make all their apps free with nothing in them and then when you open the app it will ask you to buy the content
Again, I believe it's their smartest move yet. People will love the game!!!! 1.) If you give people something for free, they will appreciate it and won't feel cheated.... 2.) Once they get used to playing it, 10% will just want to develop their skills faster and get more weapons etc. It will come way to slow for most free users....so they will start buying energy to upgrade... still most people will just play it a couple times a day... but that's ok since they will at least generate brand awareness. - It's basically a game that everyone can get FOR FREE...with most things like that people loving this game try to distinguish themselves from the rest as they are fans....they will buy energy to get their suits and weapons and increase their skills etc. - It's challenging so if you play against friends and they have upgraded way more than you, it's only natural for the ones who do not have a chance to start buying energy and thereby decreasing their friends advantage. 3.) It's a game you can play everywhere and it lasts only a couple of mintues... since you get credits for four rounds every 90 minutes... people will try to do just that... play a couple times a day for a couple of minutes on the train etc. 4.) Plus+ memberships will grow exponentially just weeks after it's release... Other developers will try to jump on that train and be listed in their games list... so they can get that free advertising... and that's some serious advertising if you ask me... since most people will have the plus+ network... Plus+ will be the leading network and stay there. 5.) New games will be free to market and generate tons of sales immediatelly.... 6.) ngmoco will be able to develop more games at a faster rate... with say less levels and then add additional levels every other weeks to keep people competitive... since most games will now be free there isn't really a reason for people to not do that... That way the fan base will buy additional stuff and game makers don't have to develop new versions over and over again... Instead update maps etc... which is what is missing for the iPhone right now imho... I would love to have games that I know can keep me challenged for months/years... Just imagine Rolando levels becoming more sophisticated and tricky... Once you are a pro you will just need that new challenge every week... people just need stuff they can get really good at without having to replay the game 10x. 7.) Other developers won't have the advantage of the Plus+ and banner marketing and will still charge for their games. So price-wise there will be no competition for ngmoco. 8.) For me paying 10$ for a game I don't really know I will use after the first 2-3 days is too expensive...whereas paying nothing and trying a couple levels is only fair and will get people motivated. 9.) If every developer jumps on that train... no cracks technically and actually no reason for cracked apps since I believe most people download cracked apps would have never bought the game in first place. They only get it because it's free. 10.) It's more affordable for most to offer DLC if the Levels all in all don't add up to much more than a 6-10$ depending the lenght of the game. 11.) it will put a lot of pressure on other smaller developers... after some months they will be left with a couple of options: 1.) develop more content for less money and better games 2.) exit the market.... .... There are many other points one can bring up but I basically believe it's a VERY smart move. PLUS!!! They will offer DLC in form of new / additional PRO levels FOR SURE!!!! / Plus they might offer new weapons / upgrades etc. Plus they can offer new game modes like capture the flag etc. as DLC as well. So once people got addicated to playing the regular game they will invest those 1-3$ into upgrades / new levels etc. and at that point of time there will be millions of users generating millions of dollars.... AND all of that is ONLY FAIR... Since I believe there should be no problem paying for a game that one uses daily and loves for months... 99% of the people won't have any problem with that... So those 10-20$ invested in a game per year is still a bargain.
Other mode as DLC? No way is it worth it since first of all it should have been included ex. Team Deathmatch but like for other wacky stuff mode then that could be a DLC. Please stop drinking the Kool-Aid
Yeah... it's just a possibility if they really want to bank on it... but I think the enegery purchases will get them enough profits. A game based on in-app purchases offers some advantages for the customers as well, since you don't have to buy the full package and will be able to test it. Also it's a great motivation for game developers to offer bugfixes and updates once a game is out, since with more DLC they can make more money and it's way easier than developing a whole new version. So I would expect them to deliver some updates with additional DLC stuff to keep people engaged instead of releasing a new version every month... No Kool-Aid, it's just that this is a very smart move. iPhone blogs already reporting about the price drop and guess what will happen when the game is out.... It will be all over the net. ngmoco has stepped up to blogs and sites and invited them to test the App already... So they are pretty certain that the Community marketing will handle itself. They are now aiming for the larger newspapers and magazine I guess. That's where they will be investing money into... I've seen Eliminate ads 2 months ago on apptism.com and other sites. I guess we will see a lot Eliminate ads within the next month...
Was just thinking about a great DLC... How about PREMIUM connection... 99c get you connected to the fastest local premium server, so one can play lag free....mostly with local players say 99c for 200 premium games... Like a guarantee for the fastest connection possible, everytime...
That would be a nightmare, setting up tiered connections based on who pays for access. They're already going to be giving priority access to people who have energized suits. Having an extra level of cost where people can pay for the opportunity to play the game the way everyone already should be able to play it is ridiculous. If they can make the game lag less for some, they should take whatever they did to get that speed boost and give it to everyone. The public backlash against a proceeding like this would be incredible.
I kinda doubt they will be able to provide a lag free experience to millions of users at the same time... Technically they would only need 3 extra servers. USA / Europe / Asia. That will handle the premium games. However of course it is nonsense if the game is lag-free.... To me there's nothing worse than a crippled game experience. I will excuse them for anything, be it bad graphics or lame levels etc. but if the game just doesn't make fun, it's GAME OVER! I didn't know they are giving priorities to energized suits???? What priority is that? No waiting in line? Haven't heard of it yet.
What happen, this thread has got more than 50 pages in 15 hours. I heard on Twitter that it's free, is that what it's about.
I think that players with energized suits will be first in line to join new games. Even without energy, wait time is just a few seconds though, so I'm not sure what (if any) practical advantage this will have.
Ol first of all wat is dlc ? Also I don't mind plus but for some reason I seen a 6.99 charge pop up and I only bought 3 games I also seen a complaint that this had hapen to some one else.... Does plus charge ur credit carD our wat ? Ps srry for bad spelling typing on my phone
Ehh... They put ads in every app they make. I'd really rather not see an ad for EPW in an app I paid 10 dollars for. THAT annoys me.
Hey, ummm what page of this thread are the new screenshots for this game? I saw eggzbacon post but they closed it, where are they on this thread? Thanks
Can't wait for this game. The first time I heard about the energy system I didn't like it but it makes sense and making the game free is going to increase the fanbase a ton. They said on their Twitter it was submitted last week.. hoping it will come out sometime this weekend.
