It's a VERY smart move. For one, ngmoco is still going to make cash behind the in-app purchases and get LOADS more downloads, ergo more cash and a greater fan base. As opposed to 50-90% downloading it illegally which I'm sure played a huge factor in making it free. You can't get in-app purchases illegally as far as I'm aware so it's Plus+ for ngmoco to use their term.
HOLY SHIT FREE! This will be the best free game, I think. Although the fact that it coincides with DLC for free apps means probably most of the maps will be paid.
The pricing scheme for extra maps has not been announced yet, but could you blame ngmoco if they wanted to charge for them? They're giving the game away.
They are some smart people there, they made it free knowing people would crack it! And now since apple announced in-app purcahses available for free games they took advantage of that. They will charge for the new maps and stuff and its soo smart since in-app purchase can't be cracked... YET! Yep, it is a smart move for a lot of reasons. Though to be fair, just because you jailbreak, that doesn't make you a pirate. I had a jailbroken phone for for a while and I never pirated a single app.
wait if this game is free... AAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There may be a butload of ads! I would rather pay a few bucks. By the by, now that I think of it, the new memo could of been hinting at this price by saying "There is no need to gate entry to project ELIMINATE"
Well. ELIMINATE will not be coming out till we see it in the Plus+ catalog on our iDevices. Fo' shame.
We know there are going to be ads, so what... You still get one kickass game! It's not like it will keep spamming you or something.
